Chapter Summaries

After Nero defeated Sefar, Roy sent her to Uruk alone to fulfill their covenant and rebuild Rome, while he awakened Attila from her dream. On the far side of the Moon, Roy and Aiwass examined the Moon Cell and discussed how knowledge and imagination shaped the limits of Demon God power.

• Roy praised Nero for defeating Sefar, but Nero credited Roy with directing the events and agreed to travel to Uruk alone.
• Roy told Nero that Rome awaited her return, and she departed to rebuild the empire as history's correction drove her toward becoming a tyrant.
• Roy found the dying Attila, lifted and kissed her, and she awoke with Sefar's feelings restored and thanked him for the dream.
• Roy appeared on the far side of the Moon with Aiwass and inspected the Moon Cell's calculations of the Solar System.

Roy used his Demon God power to free Sefar by destroying the Predatory Star, then turned to Earth to complete his final ritual. In Uruk, Gilgamesh prepared Chaldea to fight Tiamat as her Sea of Life and monsters advanced on the city.

Medusa and her sisters transformed into the Gorgon Monster to hold back Tiamat while Uruk’s forces weakened the goddess and Roman fired Solomon’s halo at her. Tiamat survived and changed into her primordial dragon form, while Nero ambushed Ritsuka; Gilgamesh and Enkidu intervened as Ritsuka recognized a familiar power in Nero.

• Medusa joined with Stheno and Euryale to become the Gorgon Monster, whose petrifying gaze and poison struck Tiamat’s monsters.
• Ereshkigal connected the Netherworld to the living world, weakening Tiamat’s immortality, while Roman activated Solomon’s halo and blasted her.

Nero overwhelmed Gilgamesh, Roman, and Merlin with her Beastly corruption while Tiamat battered Uruk. After Enkidu restrained Tiamat long enough for the Servants to attack, Nero slipped past her distracted opponents and rushed toward Ritsuka, invoking the Law of Herod the Great.

• Gilgamesh, Roman, and Merlin attacked Nero, but her corrupting magic weakened them and turned the fight against them.
• Nero grew more frenzied, sang across the battlefield, and clashed with Gilgamesh as Tiamat rampaged against Uruk.
• Enkidu bound Tiamat with golden chains, giving the Servants and Kirschtaria an opening to unleash their attacks.
• While the others focused on Tiamat, Nero slipped past Gilgamesh, Roman, and Merlin and charged at Ritsuka.
• Nero told Ritsuka that the Law of Herod the Great was about to pass judgment on her.

Mashu and the others watched Tiamat destroy Uruk and regain her full power while Ritsuka remained trapped with Nero. In Tiamat’s spiritual sea, Roy listened as she explained that she wanted humanity destroyed so her children could return to her.

• Mashu searched for Ritsuka, and Roman explained that Nero’s domain separated its occupants from the outside world.

• Roy reassured Tiamat that she could guide new children with love, and she quieted and fell asleep among the ruins of Uruk.
• Roman and Waver realized Tiamat had broken free of her restraints and attained her Complete Form through Uruk’s destruction.

As Ritsuka recited the Seven Sayings on the Cross during her execution, Chaldea prepared to rescue her but was confronted by Shirou Amakusa and other saints, who insisted she must die to save humanity. Time then stopped, and a mysterious door appeared above Ritsuka, terrifying everyone, including Nero.

• Abby opened the gates and became Yog-Sothoth’s vessel, while Othinus’s golden spear shattered the gates but could not destroy the evil god’s Mental Body.
• Roy bound Yog-Sothoth within the Golden Supreme Heaven and explained that it was only a Mental Body, though neither he nor Othinus could annihilate it.

• Roy asked Othinus to inspect the recreated world, and she confirmed that it had no flaws and that he had become a perfect Demon God.
• At the Clock Tower Grand Council, Waver presented Chaldea’s account of saving the Human Order and a fabricated report that omitted Marisbury and the great god.

In the next scene, Roy stood with Othinus and explained that he was adjusting to his newly attained magus-tier state before returning to the Toaru Majutsu no Index World.

• Ritsuka and Mashu walked beside the River Thames, then encountered Roy and Aika outside a church as the day ended.

• Aiwass explained that she had sought detailed information about the Demon Gods and completed adjustments to A.A.A., then warned Aleister that magicians might have discovered his identity.
• Aiwass blessed Aleister and said she was looking for Anna Sprengel, a woman who had ruled over magic and abandoned the path to becoming a Demon God.
• More than two hundred Tokiwadai students, including Misaka Mikoto, Shirai Kuroko, and Shokuhou Misaki, went out on Christmas Eve to pick up trash in the snow.

In Britain, Levianna Bardewy discovered that her sister Patricia had been infected by a mysterious organism after an Antarctic expedition, and the doctor suggested Academy City might be able to help.

• Roy shared the location and history of the magician who had stolen Anna Sprengel’s body with Aiwass, who left to deal with her.
• Roy considered Aleister’s worsening condition and decided not to interfere with Kolozun’s plan to kill him.
• Levianna anxiously confronted the doctors treating Patricia, who had returned from an Antarctic expedition unable to move.
• The doctor showed Levianna a black, living organism consuming Patricia’s fat and said it could not be removed with their current methods.

Levianna decided to take Patricia to Academy City to seek a cure and, if needed, find Roy, while Roy reunited with Shokuhou Misaki over dinner. The chapter ended as Roy spotted a drenched Levianna outside the restaurant.
