Background / History

Jiang Mu Ming was born as the last surviving prince of Western Chu during its destruction by Northern Li. His parents died in the war, while Confucian Immortal Gu Chen carried the infant prince out of Luosang City and entrusted him to soldiers who ensured his escape. 1 16

He eventually reached the destroyed Northern Queendom, later known as Beyond Heaven. Yue Fengcheng betrothed his daughter Yue Yao to Jiang Mu Ming and made him the Northern Que Prince Consort, chiefly intending to exploit Jiang’s Western Chu royal identity. Within Beyond Heaven, Jiang Mu Ming was repeatedly suppressed and treated as a political asset. 1

Years before the main story, he awakened the Reading and Preaching System. Reading earns him rewards; letting others read his works or imparting techniques from other worlds earns further feedback. He devoted himself to study, reading nearly thirty thousand scrolls from Beyond Heaven’s library. 1 2

Jiang Mu Ming later volunteered to enter Chai Sang City as a bookstall owner and informer assigned to observe Baili Dongjun. The Yan–Gu conflict exposed his hidden strength, brought him into contact with Yan Liuli, and gave him a means to distribute novels and cultivate readers throughout the realm. 1 6 13

Although he is Western Chu royalty, Jiang Mu Ming rejects restoration through indiscriminate war. His central ambition is to spread the Dao and martial paths across the world, raise the world’s martial foundation, and ultimately create a supreme scripture surpassing all existing arts. 12 22 95

Jiang Mu Ming is a youthful blue-robed scholar whose composed bearing often causes others to mistake him for a harmless bookstall owner. He looks under twenty despite having been fifteen when he first reached the Profound Spirit Realm. 6 17
