Zijing got up early, combed her hair, and checked herself in the mirror several times. Only after finding nothing unusual did she relax slightly.
Then she urged Little Jiu to leave quickly.
"Please, go already."
"Don't let Ruila, Bamboo Whisper, and the others find out, or I won't know how to face them!"
"At worst, come back in a couple of days. I'll leave the door open for you."
Zijing wanted to push Little Jiu out of the room. To do that, she had no choice but to give him something to look forward to.
Little Jiu shrugged, lazily twirling a strand of Zijing's hair around his fingers. "Then I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. They never left—they've been waiting outside all along."
"Want me to let them in right now?"
"No!"
Zijing's expression changed drastically, but Little Jiu merely waved his hand. The door shattered, and the divine power barrier vanished as well.
"You bastard!"
Zijing truly wanted to bite him. She hurriedly moved away from Little Jiu, but it was obviously too late.
"I have to say, Captain, you really went all out!"
"So this is a soul beast?"
"What a huge soul beast!"
Ruila, Bamboo Whisper, Qian Sui, and the other six girls entered with mischievous smiles, teasing Zijing without restraint. She wanted nothing more than to find a crack in the ground and crawl into it.
This was utterly humiliating!
They had caught her right in her room.
Little Jiu had spent the night in her room—there was no way to explain that clearly. In frustration, she lay facedown on the table, pretending she could neither hear nor see anything.
The girls immediately burst into laughter, creating a lively commotion. Little Jiu could not help smiling as he watched this group of vibrant young women.
"Who
