Jiazi Demon Purge
How many demons were there in the world? If anyone asked that question, they would surely be laughed at.
Because demons across the world simply could not be counted.
As the leader of the demonic factions, the Myriad Demons Sect commanded fewer than ten thousand demons, even counting those of the Eighth and Ninth Grades.
Yet the demons causing havoc throughout the land numbered far more than a hundred thousand, perhaps even millions.
Because becoming a demon was far too easy.
And the benefits were far too great.
For an ordinary person to step into the Ninth Grade and become a cultivator,
they would have to endure bitter winter training and scorching summer practice, investing countless hours and effort.
And even then, they might not succeed.
But one only needed to cultivate a Demonic Art and consume the Essence Blood of several dozen ordinary people
to smoothly enter the Ninth Grade.
Though Demonic Arts were easy to begin, achieving mastery—or even reaching the Upper Three Grades—was far harder than with righteous cultivation methods.
But without Demonic Arts, many people could not even reach the Lower Three Grades, let alone the Upper Three Grades.
Furthermore, demons acted without restraint. They had no need to follow rules, and killing people was as simple as eating and drinking.
They were even idolized by many.
Especially over the past few decades, as the Myriad Demons Sect rose to power and tied up much of the Righteous Factions' attention.
This had caused demons throughout the land to proliferate even more wildly.
In the past, righteous experts would often descend the mountain to vanquish demons and uphold justice.
But now, those righteous experts had all gone to fight the Myriad Demons Sect.
The demons entrenched in every region had seemingly cast off their shackles, becoming even more brutal.
But now,
the world's demons had met their doom.
Because Celestial Master Zhang of Dragon Tiger Mountain had descended the mountain to purge demons.
Myriad Demons Sect Main Branch.
After the battle at Dragon Tiger Mountain, the Myriad Demons Sect Master had died,
and eight of the nine Celestial Phenomenon Realm vice sect masters had perished. The one who escaped had only survived because he had been carrying out a mission at the time and had been somewhat farther from Dragon Tiger Mountain.
On top of that, he was skilled in preserving his own life, allowing him to barely escape alive.
Even so,
that vice sect master had been terrified out of his wits. Though he had been fleeing with all his strength, one accidental glance had shown him the Myriad Demons Sect reduced to a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood. That horrifying sight had nearly shattered even his demon heart.
"Vice Sect Master, what do we do now?"
"The Sect Master is dead, and the other vice sect masters are dead too."
"Are we... are we still staying here?"
A demon left behind to guard the place asked in a trembling voice.
"If we don't stay here, where can we run?"
"This is the Main Branch. It is full of mechanisms. Hiding here is the safest option."
The vice sect master steadied himself and replied calmly.
From the very beginning of its rise, the Myriad Demons Sect had considered the possibility that it might lose a decisive battle against the righteous path. The Main Branch was their final refuge.
The Myriad Demons Sect's Main Branch had been designed by dozens of master mechanism engineers. Even a group of Celestial Phenomenon Realm experts would not dare barge in. One small mistake, and they would be badly wounded by the traps.
Precisely because of this,
the vice sect master had ultimately chosen to flee back to the Main Branch.
At the same time, he ordered the demons stationed there to activate every mechanism.
Suddenly,
at that moment,
screams rang out from outside.
At the same time, terrifying tremors nearly spread through the entire Main Branch.
"No!!"
"Who are you?"
"Why are you killing us?"
The desperate howls of demons inside the Main Branch echoed out, then fell silent in the blink of an eye.
A figure in a Daoist robe walked in step by step.
It was Lin Yuan.
"Celestial Master."
The vice sect master gave a miserable laugh.
He had considered the possibility that the mechanisms in the Main Branch would fail to stop the Celestial Master of Dragon Tiger Mountain.
But he had never expected it to happen so quickly. The countless mechanisms once regarded by the Myriad Demons Sect as their escape route had not even lasted half an incense stick before this Celestial Master.
"Celestial Master, if I choose to submit to you, to the Celestial Master Manor, can I still live?"
The vice sect master did not give up and asked quietly.
No matter what, he was a Celestial Phenomenon Realm expert. Surely he had some use? "No need."
Lin Yuan shook his head slightly.
Then he turned and left.
A red line suddenly appeared between the brows of the vice sect master seated in the main seat.
The demon beside him was no exception. His gaze quickly turned rigid, and his entire body collapsed.
Great Yu Dynasty.
Capital.
A man in a blood-red robe fled in terror to the gates of the Imperial Palace.
"My name is Ouyang Ye. I am a direct disciple of the Myriad Demons Sect Master. I know how to rapidly cultivate Celestial Phenomenon Realm experts. The Myriad Demons Sect's nine Celestial Phenomenon Realm experts were created through this method."
Ouyang Ye, the man in the blood-red robe, looked toward the Imperial Palace before him. He circulated the True Qi within his body and sent his voice inside.
The Great Yu Dynasty was the unified dynasty that ruled the world. It was powerful, and it was also Ouyang Ye's only remaining path to survival.
"I can reveal this method to the Great Yu Dynasty. My only request is that you protect me and stop Celestial Master Zhang."
As Ouyang Ye spoke, his expression was practically pleading.
He believed that the Great Yu Dynasty could not refuse a method for cultivating Celestial Phenomenon Realm experts. Those were Celestial Phenomenon Realm experts. Even if the price was great, such a method was unquestionably priceless to a dynasty.
After a long while,
the gates of the Imperial Palace opened.
A hunched old man walked out.
The hunched old man possessed a profound aura. He was clearly also a Celestial Phenomenon Realm expert.
"You should leave."
"Celestial Master Zhang is invincible in this world. We cannot help anyone he wants to kill, nor can we stop any demons he wants to purge."
The hunched old man shook his head slightly.
Then, as though he had sensed something, he immediately turned and went back through the gates.
The gates of the Imperial Palace shut tightly the next moment.
"Can't help?"
"They don't even want a method to cultivate Celestial Phenomenon Realm experts?"
Ouyang Ye fell silent.
"Could it be that no one in the world can truly save me?"
Ouyang Ye was consumed by despair.
Then, a streak of sword light flashed behind him.
Ouyang Ye fell straight down, all life leaving him.
"At least they know their place."
Lin Yuan raised his head and glanced at the Great Yu Imperial Palace before turning away.
Northernmost Ice Plains.
Before a palace forged from ice crystals,
a figure in black robes knelt on the ground.
"My Original Demon Sect Lineage fought alongside your Northern Wasteland Lineage six thousand years ago."
"I am willing to reveal the Original Demon Sect's many secrets. I only ask to live."
The black-robed figure spoke quietly. He knew that the Lord of the Northern Wasteland inside the Ice Palace could hear him.
In all the world, only the Lord of the Northern Wasteland could somewhat restrain Celestial Master Zhang.
"You want to live?"
Deep within the Ice Palace sat an imposing man with golden light flickering in his eyes.
His expression was somber, revealing nothing.
"I want to live too."
The imposing man sighed.
"Lord of the Northern Wasteland, are you truly going to watch as my Original Demon Sect Lineage is extinguished once more?"
Receiving no response, the black-robed figure kneeling on the ground raised his head in despair.
At the same time,
the black-robed figure collapsed with a thud.
Lin Yuan's figure emerged nearby.
"Lord of the Northern Wasteland?"
Lin Yuan looked at the palace before him with slight surprise.
According to the records of the Celestial Master Manor, he knew of the Northern Wasteland Lineage. Its history was ancient, no less so than the Celestial Master Lineage.
However, this lineage had always kept far from the powers of the Central Plains, living quietly in the Northernmost Ice Plains. Few in the world knew much about it.
"Celestial Master Zhang, this demon has nothing to do with my Northern Wasteland. He came here on his own."
Sensing Lin Yuan's gaze, the imposing man deep within the Ice Palace immediately explained with some tension.
"I know."
Lin Yuan nodded.
His figure vanished without a sound.
Only after Lin Yuan had completely left
did the Lord of the Northern Wasteland finally let out a breath of relief.
"This generation's Celestial Master is putting far too much pressure on me. He seems vastly stronger than any of the previous Celestial Masters?"
The imposing man could not help thinking.
The Northern Wasteland Lineage understood the Celestial Masters far better than the other Righteous Factions.
Precisely because of this, the imposing man found the pressure Lin Yuan gave him somewhat unbearable.
In a desert,
several dozen figures fled frantically.
"Celestial Master Zhang, we brothers may call ourselves demons, but we have nothing to do with the Myriad Demons Sect."
"When the Myriad Demons Sect besieged Dragon Tiger Mountain, we brothers knew nothing of it and took no part in it."
The leading man cried out hoarsely, staring in terror at the figure approaching step by step behind them.
"As long as they are demons, they should be killed."
Lin Yuan raised his right hand and pressed down lightly. The several dozen people fleeing before him all fell at once.
On a bustling street,
a fortune-telling Daoist was calling out to passersby by the roadside.
At that moment, an ordinary-looking man walked up to him.
"Tell my fortune. How long can I live?"
The ordinary-looking man's eyes were bloodshot. He was clearly in an abnormally tense state.
"You are still so young."
The fortune-telling Daoist took only one look before his expression immediately changed.
He promptly packed up his abacus and table, then turned and left without a second thought.
"Master, Master, are you that afraid of that man? You didn't even dare tell his fortune?"
A child beside him jogged after him.
"What do you know?"
The fortune-telling Daoist glared at him.
"That man will not live long. If we get too close to him, we might be implicated as well."
The fortune-telling Daoist spoke quickly.
"Ah?"
"Implicated?"
The child blinked. He knew his master was one of the world's foremost experts, so why would he fear being implicated?
"Because that man is a demon."
The fortune-telling Daoist said directly.
"A demon?"
Hearing that, the child immediately shrank back.
Who still didn't know that a calamity had descended upon the demonic masters of the world?
That Celestial Master Zhang who had come down from Dragon Tiger Mountain was hunting demonic masters everywhere.
As long as one was a demonic master, death was nearly unavoidable. No one could stop him.
"Celestial Master Zhang..."
The fortune-telling Daoist suddenly stopped.
His heart began to tremble.
A young man in Daoist robes was walking toward him, heading for where that ordinary-faced man had just been.
"Celestial Master Zhang has come."
The fortune-telling Daoist muttered to himself.
Later records stated that Zhang Shanfeng, the thirty-seventh Celestial Master of Celestial Master Manor, descended the mountain to sweep away the demons.
For the next sixty years, the demonic path vanished from the martial world. The realm was at peace, and no one dared call himself a demonic master.
Later generations called this—
Jiazi Demon Subjugation.
The ending was rather difficult to write, so this came out a little late.
This journey was basically over. What remained was all wrap-up plot, and I would probably return in a day or two.
What did everyone think of this journey? Please give me some feedback.
