William, whose body had been completely crushed and devoured, heard a powerful ringing in his skull.
It was not particularly painful, though.
The darkness before his eyes quickly shifted into a hazy gray fog.
William suddenly awoke on a wire bed covered with dirty sheets. His brain felt as if it had been stirred into paste, and he needed to sit on the edge of the bed for a while to collect himself.
Yet there was a smile at the corners of his mouth.
"As expected, once the body dies in the high-rise, the mind comes to Lighthouse Mental Hospital. I'm gradually beginning to understand some of the rules within the First Calamity."
William, dressed in striped patient's clothes, walked toward the door and found the ward's iron door completely locked. Just as he was about to use his abilities to force it open,
the young nurse met his eyes through the observation window in the door.
"You need to rest a little. If you leave now, you might suffer irreparable trauma to your mind."
William pointed at his own
"It's fine. My brain is still very powerful. Trauma and the like simply don't exist~ Don't let appearances fool you—I have a palace of thought too, just like this Mental Hospital.
However, the state it manifests is quite different. Would you like to take a look, miss? Shall we have a deeper exchange?"
William had not even finished speaking when the other party left.
He could only use a tumor to pry the door open and leave, continuing to stare at the nurse at the station with a lecherous gaze.
He changed his patient's clothes into a dark suit suited to the current area, tied his hair into a bun with a rubber band, and planned to attract her
