He even set questions for himself to test whether the foundation of his Human Nature had been shaken.

Just then, a voice came from Deep Brain:

'William, didn't I say beforehand that I would behead you the moment you became tainted by evil? You only need to touch your neck and see whether there's a wound. There's no need to rush into checking everything.

Evil isn't omnipresent. It only seeps in when someone is willing to face it.

Passively accepting evil isn't frightening, because that kind of evil can't seize control—just like me.'
