When everyone saw the intricate iron chains covered in dried corpses, the chains themselves sensed the newcomers.
They had not fed in a very long time. They seemed to possess the same hunger as living creatures, their desire to feed completely maxed out. The sand across the entire compound began to loosen, and iron chains emerged one after another. Each one seemed to possess an independent consciousness.
The exposed sections continued to evolve curved blades on the surface,
and, astonishingly, withered, metallic eyeballs grew across the blades. They stared at everyone by the entrance, seemingly possessing genuine visual capabilities.
Yi Chen noticed this as well,
and as he watched the eyeballs of the dried corpses hanging in the air being gouged out one by one, he suddenly became interested in the iron chains before him.
In an instant, hundreds upon thousands of bladed iron chains shot out from beneath the sand, pointing straight at everyone.
However, these ravenous iron chains all stopped one meter away. Buzz! Every chain vibrated at high frequency, as though countless starving men were crammed in front of a group of young women, saliva flowing from their mouths like streams, yet they dared not make a move for some reason.
It seemed one of those women was particularly fierce.
Clearly, the iron chains had sensed the extremely dangerous presence of the Prison Warden—or rather, they had sensed the source of all the iron chains within the Prison Warden. A suppression born from instinct made them afraid to advance.
After struggling for a while, their survival instinct overcame their hunger. All the iron chains withdrew into the sand and returned to normal.
The Prison Warden asked, "Mr. Yi, did you notice anything from that close observation?"
"This thing isn't inanimate, nor is it some mindless living organism.
