The story concerning the Tenth Abyss is, in my view, a very important turning point in this novel. It is not only where William's unique pathway is located, but also a crucial setting for explaining what the abyss is and why abysses form, while also leading into the invasion war.
I wrote over a thousand words today, then deleted them all. Something felt very wrong.
After thinking it over for a long time, I decided it would be better to pause and carefully work things out before continuing.
