Abysmer Settlement, Black Treant. Before Lord Carimus.
At least eight hundred Abysmers were meditating in their own ways. As long as their bodies had not completely undergone abyssal transformation, they were qualified to perform Face Condensation.
Aside from the overall atmosphere, the reason everyone chose to meditate beneath the great tree
was that they hoped their piety would earn Lord Carimus's recognition. If they were lucky, they might even hear the tree's call and receive instruction in Face Condensation,
and most importantly,
the Pilgrimage Path was hidden at the base of the great tree. In other words, this was the location closest to the Abyss, so the effects of Face Condensation were naturally much better here.
William was the same. After arriving here, the Abyssal Substance within his body had become considerably more active.
However, it was still too slow in William's view.
Perhaps his body was too robust, or perhaps the Malignant Disease of the First Abyss—"Death Plague"—had spread throughout his entire body.
The Abyssal Substance inside him seemed somewhat cautious. It had yet to reach its limit and still needed to be cultivated inside his body, using it as a "vessel," until it reached its optimal state.
"The Malignant Disease pathogen of the Tenth Abyss has a very high degree of 'freedom.' Unlike Death Plague, which is basically qualitative, the most that differs is the flagella.
Once they invade, they rapidly copy the host's genetic material, selecting its finest segments for replication, transcription, and translation, ultimately producing large amounts of 'high-quality components.'
If this process cannot be effectively guided and controlled, the individual will run amok and transform into an indescribable collection of replicated units.
But if it can be perfectly guided, the Malignant Disease's replication traits can ultimately be used to create an external mask that perfectly
