The markings showed that they were transporting iron ore to the steelworks in Golden Lion City for processing, since that side had an ample energy supply.
At the center of the mine was a massive pit, three hundred meters deep at its deepest point and 2.2 kilometers across at its widest. Countless machines were excavating iron ore within it.
A huge ore processing plant stood at the edge of the pit, rumbling thunderously.
Several hundred meters from the processing plant stood a cluster of buildings. Most were makeshift structures resembling shipping containers, though there were also some permanent buildings.
There were two radar units in the mine. One was operating, while the other was idle, clearly serving as a backup.
The mine also had missile modules, Energy Cannons, and some very old chemical-propellant artillery.
The ground defenses had these artillery pieces because the weather on the ground was highly unpredictable. If they relied entirely on Energy Weapons, then during torrential rain, heavy fog, blizzards, and similar conditions...
Under such weather conditions, these outdated weapons were actually more effective than Energy Weapons.
The mine was clearly divided into military and non-military areas. The military zone consisted of permanent buildings, including armored structures, barbed wire, and more.
Night had only recently fallen, but the mine was brightly lit.
