Nest Blasting

"So many fish!" After Yang Bo piloted the mech for a while, he discovered an enormous school of fish.

A vast dark mass covered the lake's surface, but Yang Bo did not recognize the fish and had no idea what species they were.

He ran a radar scan and found that the school contained over ten thousand fish. Yang Bo chuckled and removed a blue Shockwave Bomb from the external component mounted on his chest. The bomb was attached to the mech and was roughly the size of a five-hundred-pound aerial bomb from Earth.

After activating the mechanical detonator with a twist, he backed the mech up a distance and hurled it with all his strength.

Of course, compared to an eight-meter-tall mech, the bomb was nothing much. The Shockwave Bomb flew over five hundred meters before plunging into the water.

Boom! The lake was over ten meters deep. First, the ground shook, then a column of water dozens of meters high erupted into the air.

Swimming +1!

A dense stream of information flowed through his mind. Back in his room, Yang Bo clearly felt the tremendous changes in his body, as though an invisible force had erupted within him and transformed his entire physique.

A fierce hunger seized him. Yang Bo hurriedly logged out of the game, charging himself while drinking milk.

Ten minutes later, Yang Bo looked at the battery with less than 10% charge remaining, then at the entire box of one-liter cartons of milk he had already finished.

Yang Bo clenched his fist and felt as though he could crush steel.

"Back to the game first." Yang Bo did not have time to inspect his skills. He hurriedly logged back in. If something else happened and his mech was damaged, the loss would outweigh the gain.

The lake surface was densely covered with fish, all of them belly-up. The scale of it was difficult to describe.

Some fish had even been blasted apart, and the water in the lake had changed color.

"I can wait and see." Yang Bo had an idea. He had made a feeding spot with these fish, so perhaps other fish would come? He first activated the radar's Alert Range, then checked his skills.

The greatest change was Swimming: Master (11450/100000). Another major change was Camouflage: Advanced (142/1000). Yang Bo rubbed his head. What kind of animal had he blown up? Could it have been a fish or some other creature on the lakebed capable of Camouflage? But after half a second of thought, he gave up. This was an alien planet.

He had also gained another skill: Slap: Intermediate (12/100). Dynamic Vision, Flight, and Electrical Energy Control had all increased somewhat, because there were Electric Eels in this lake as well.

This happened to be where several currents converged into the lake. The thick scent of blood spread with the water, and Yang Bo soon spotted large fish arriving one after another.

Some resembled Earth's killer whales. They used their tails to slap other fish competing for food straight into the air.

"So it was you, you little runt." Yang Bo did not recognize this fish. It was much smaller than a killer whale and somewhat resembled a dolphin.

An hour later, Yang Bo checked the radar. It showed that there were already tens of thousands of fish in the lake, some over ten meters long and others as small as a palm.

"A game, hehe." Yang Bo chuckled, pulled out the second Shockwave Bomb, and tossed it far away.

The ground shook again, making even the mech sway, while a water column dozens of meters high shot into the sky.

Yang Bo had already prepared for this. He had bought a larger battery with greater capacity, capable of storing fifty thousand kilowatt-hours of electricity at once, and had returned the old one. The milk was ready too.

A tremendous force surged through him, and his body instantly went weak and hollow. Yang Bo hurriedly charged himself and guzzled milk.

Ten minutes later, that hollow feeling finally faded. Even the battery had gotten a little hot... the discharge rate was too fast.

It had consumed 22% of the battery's charge. Fortunately, it was from a major brand.

Yang Bo's actions left quite a few people dumbfounded. First, within the so-called game base, the moment Yang Bo's first Shockwave Bomb detonated, it was broadcast live by some orbital device.

"Is this guy crazy?" In the base, someone frowned as he looked at the white fish floating across the lake.

"Keep watching." The base administrator was also baffled, but Yang Bo had a record. An Infiltrator had actually infiltrated the innermost Alert Range of the base. Fortunately, they had obtained the wreckage and would soon be able to crack the other side's secrets.

The Mutants were equally bewildered. Mutants needed food to survive as well. Large-scale hunting on land was impractical, so their greatest source of food was the creatures in the water. At the very least, no one kept records of changes in the populations of creatures within this lake.

In the underground space, the general frowned as well. Yang Bo's behavior was too strange. Using Shockwave Bombs to blow up fish for fun? What, was there something wrong with his head, or had he never gotten the chance to play when he was a child?

Yang Bo checked his Swimming skill. It still needed over thirty thousand points to reach one hundred thousand. The reason he was doing this was to see what would happen once the skill reached its limit.

"General, the smell of blood is even stronger this time. More fish will be drawn over. What should we do?" a Mutant asked loudly in the underground space.

"Have the hunting squads drive away the gathering fish," the general said after some thought.

"Yes." The man immediately relayed the order.

Mutants possessed many abilities. The hunting teams in the lake could move underwater and emit a type of sound wave that could gather fish schools or drive them away.

Yang Bo was secretly delighted. The authorities had not sent him an email yet, which definitely meant there was no problem.

"There won't be a next time. The thing these fish increase the most is Swimming. What use is that?" Yang Bo did not understand this skill, so he wanted to see what it could become. As for the other skills, he felt they were a waste of time.

He searched with the radar and watched the fish schools in the distance begin to gather closer. Yang Bo decided to wait, though waiting here was a waste of time.

In the bushes in the distance, a bird hopped about. Yang Bo did not initially feel that anything was wrong, but the next second...

"Something's not right. With such a huge commotion, this bird is less than two hundred meters away. Is it trying to stand out?" Yang Bo found it rather strange.

Yang Bo had not planned to bother with it, but the bird kept hopping around in the bushes and staring at him. How could he tolerate that? The Rocket Pack activated instantly, and he launched into a Leaping Slash! "Huh!" But the instant he jumped, the bird actually took flight, made a turn, and instead flew back toward where he had been standing. Yang Bo was somewhat surprised.

However, the shield in his hand flew out in an instant, slapping the bird directly to the ground.

"Little punk!" Yang Bo landed from his Leaping Slash, feeling pleased with himself.

"Something's wrong. Why didn't my Flight ability increase?" Yang Bo found it strange and went to retrieve his shield.

At that moment, Yang Bo heard what seemed to be strange sounds coming from the lake. He picked up the shield, examined the bird's corpse first, then activated the mech's scanning system. He discovered that the bird's bone density and other properties were abnormal, and its composition contained several unknown materials.

"Could it be a Mutant scout?" Yang Bo muttered to himself, then tossed the bird's corpse into the mech's built-in loot storage compartment.

"Damn it, where did all my fish go?" When Yang Bo returned to the lake, he found that the fish that had been gathering at the feeding spot had actually fled. Were they deliberately messing with an angler? He had worked so hard to make that feeding spot!
