"That's true. At worst, we'll just change bodies." Modified Humans had backup copies of their memory data before leaving to carry out missions.
Modified Humans did not believe that if their current body died, a Modified Human recreated using backup data would be a different person. They believed they had been reborn.
In truth, they were not the same person at all, because their souls and other thoughts were completely different.
