First Dao—Golden Bridge: Path to Immortality. Those who cultivated and comprehended the Dao in life, accumulating virtue and merit, would ascend to immortality and rank among the celestial officials.
Second Dao—Silver Bridge: Receiving a Divine Position. Those who had benefited all living beings and possessed merit would be granted divine offices and enjoy the worship of incense from the mortal world.
Third Dao—Jade Bridge: Ascending the Path of Nobility. Those who had performed good deeds and accumulated virtue would be reborn into powerful and eminent clans, enjoying wealth, honor, and a worry-free lifetime.
Fourth Dao—Stone Bridge: Entering the Mortal World. Those whose merits and faults canceled each other out would be reborn as ordinary commoners, with sufficient food and clothing and a modestly comfortable life.
Fifth Dao—Wood Bridge: Falling into Hardship. Those who had committed evil and done little good would be reborn poor, destitute, and alone, plagued by illness and beset by misfortune.
Sixth Dao—Bamboo Bridge: Falling into the Abyss. Those who had committed the greatest sins and evils would be punished by being reborn into four categories:
First were those born from wombs—cows, dogs, pigs, and sheep, suffering the pain of slaughter;
Second were those born from eggs—snakes, chickens, birds, and fowl, dying when their shells broke;
Third were those born from moisture—fish, crabs, shrimp, and clams, born in turbid water and filthy mud;
Fourth were those born through transformation—mosquitoes, flies, ants, and insects. One Soul Splits into Millions, and Seven Souls Scatter in All Directions. Only after billions of incarnations had all perished would there be a chance to become human again.
Those born through transformation suffered the most. Once an evil thought arose, they could not escape calamity for ten thousand tribulations. They had to wait until every avatar had died, the Three Souls had returned
