The high-speed rail arrived. Since they had still bought tickets in pairs, the four of them split up.
Following their tickets, the two found their seats.
There was already someone sitting there, with a woman beside him, though this time she wasn't wearing black stockings.
Lin Li and Bai Bufan exchanged a look. Round two?
"Hello, sir."
"Get in, get in. You're in seat A and still this slow? No manners." The man wearing Bluetooth earbuds and scrolling short videos looked up at Lin Li impatiently, removed one earbud, and stood up.
"No, sir, are you sure you're not in the wrong seat?" Lin Li asked.
"What?" The man frowned. He pulled up his ticket, checked it against the seat information beside him several times, then showed it to Lin Li. His tone became even more impatient. "07B, that's right! You idiots are the ones who got the wrong seats, aren't you? Are you blind? Annoying as hell. Go, go, go."
He immediately sat back down.
He muttered a few more words in dialect. It wasn't the Nansang dialect, but judging by his tone, they definitely weren't nice words.
The ticket information he had shown really did say 07B.
"But—" Lin Li started again, only to be interrupted before he could finish.
"Get lost, get lost! What 'but' this and 'but' that? Stop bothering me, damn it." The man continued scrolling on his phone without even looking at Lin Li.
"Sorry, sorry." Seventeen was exactly the age when one could endure the most grievances. After getting an earful of attitude, Lin Li hurriedly apologized sincerely, then pulled Bai Bufan away.
"Did we really get it wrong? Carriage 06, 07A, 07B..." After they had gone some distance, Bai Bufan took out his phone and checked several more times, confused and uncertain.
