The girls' 3,000 meters was much longer than the boys'.
Qu Wanqiu ultimately came in fifth. Though she hadn't made the top three, more than twenty girls had participated in the 3,000 meters, so it was still a very good result.

Lin Li unscrewed the cap of a brand-new bottle of water before handing it to Qu Wanqiu. "Remember to drink slowly in small sips. Don't chug it all at once."
Qu Wanqiu nodded and took the water. "Thanks."
The five of them stopped and waited for Qu Wanqiu to drink.
