After about a hundred and fifty seconds, under Xu Yi's healing, Keisha, He Xi, and Di Lena gradually woke up. Di Lena in particular grimaced in pain, her entire body aching as if she had been smashed to pieces.
The three women's eyes were unfocused as they looked at one another, bewildered and confused, as though they had blacked out.
It took quite a while before their bodily functions barely recovered and their eyes refocused, making them look less ridiculous.
"What just happened?" Di Lena asked.
"That was a single character from a cultivation technique, like a line of code or a string of data in your algorithms. Unfortunately, it was only one character, yet you nearly exploded, so you can't cultivate it," Xu Yi said.
"How terrifying." He Xi sighed.
A single character had nearly made her explode. Before she had lost consciousness, she remembered her Sacred Atoms collapsing because they could not withstand some incomprehensible force. Her genetic sequence had fallen into disarray, and even the Heavenly Foundation Calculation Cloud had been destroyed.
Now, everything had been restored to normal. It was clearly Xu Yi's doing.
"How could something so terrifying and incomprehensible exist?" Keisha said, fear flashing through her eyes.
A single character had nearly crippled her, an Angel King.
In other words, Xu Yi did not even need to make a move. He only needed to write a character, and whoever saw it would die.
If even a Fourth Generation Sacred Body was like this, there was no need to mention lifeforms below the fourth generation.
"The world is vast and boundless. The Universe is not a single existence. If you have the opportunity to leave this Universe, perhaps you too can achieve your own evolution."
Xu Yi stood and looked up at the star-filled night sky, his aura ethereal.
Keisha and He Xi watched his back, and for a moment, it felt as though it had been branded into their minds, impossible to forget.
"I'm leaving."
Xu Yi waved his hand. With another casual wave, he tore open a rift in the space before him, grabbed Di Lena and tossed her inside, then smiled at Keisha and He Xi before vanishing.
"You're leaving just like that?" He Xi stood up and hurriedly tried to sense him, but she could sense nothing at all.
"What an enviable level of evolution," Keisha said as she rose.
"We can only envy it," He Xi said.
"Not necessarily. Haven't you noticed any changes in yourself?" Keisha asked.
"What changes?" He Xi asked.
"That character was too profound. It contained an incomprehensible will and essence. In an instant, it shattered my mental will of over thirty thousand years, even my Sacred Atoms.
"Now that I've recovered, I feel that my mental will has become tougher and stronger, while my Sacred Atoms have become more malleable," Keisha said.
"Yes, it does seem that way." He Xi sensed herself and found that it was indeed true.
"Our bodies have also undergone some kind of transformation. Though it is small, I believe that one day, we may be able to glimpse a fraction of its secrets," Keisha said.
"...Sha Sha, forget it. Why do I feel like this cultivation path is a little sinister?" He Xi said, still visibly frightened and shaken.
"Sinister? Heh. After living this long, have we encountered few sinister things?" Keisha smiled dismissively.
"But nothing this sinister..."
Juxia City.
Xu Yi and Di Lena appeared out of thin air. There were few people around on the street, so no one noticed anything unusual.
"Let's each go home," Xu Yi said, preparing to leave.
"Go home? What home? My home is on Blazing Sun," Di Lena immediately said.
"Oh."
Xu Yi walked forward, and Di Lena promptly followed him.
"What?" Xu Yi asked in confusion.
"No, Xu Yi. What kind of expression is that? It's like you don't even know me," Di Lena said strangely.
"And?" Xu Yi said.
"We dueled, went to Angel Civilization, and stayed there for a few days. We're familiar with each other now, aren't we? Since we're parting ways, shouldn't we go out for a meal?" Di Lena said.
"It's not like we're never seeing each other again. What's there to eat? Want me to pick a sun for you to eat? It'd be a great supplement," Xu Yi said.
"No." Di Lena hurriedly waved her hands and stepped back.
"Then goodbye," Xu Yi said.
Xu Yi took a step forward. But as he walked, he simply disappeared.
Di Lena stood in the street. Why did she suddenly feel as though she had been dumped?
"Damn it, Leina, what are you even thinking?" Di Lena stomped her foot.
"Leina? Where did you run off to? Why are you here?"
Not far away, Du Qiangwei rode over on her beloved little motorcycle.
In fact, the moment Di Lena's Dark Communication was restored, she had rushed over immediately.
Di Lena turned around and saw Qiang Wei. "Qiang Wei, what a coincidence."
"..." Qiang Wei's face darkened.
"What coincidence? Weren't you dueling Xu Yi? Why are you here? And three days have already passed since you disappeared and reappeared."
Qiang Wei's expression was serious as she bluntly fired off a string of complaints.
"Where exactly did you go?" Qiang Wei asked.
"Ah? Well, um..."
Di Lena's gaze wandered. She did not know how to describe it, but after thinking it over, it seemed there was no problem with telling her. It was not some shameful secret.
"Ahem. You might not believe this, but over the past two days, I went to Angel Civilization, billions of light-years away," Di Lena said.
"?" Du Qiangwei.
"You don't believe me?" Di Lena asked.
"I do! But it's so far from Earth that even with Blazing Sun's technology, a round trip would take several months," Du Qiangwei said.
"Xu Yi carried me there. That's why it was so fast," Di Lena said.
"He's that fast?" Qiang Wei asked skeptically.
"Of course. This goddess thinks no one in the entire Universe is faster than him," Di Lena said with a smile.
Du Qiangwei fell silent. Xu Yi seemed even more outrageous than she had imagined.
"Did anything happen in Angel Civilization?" Du Qiangwei asked.
"A lot happened. I'll tell you later. Let's head back first," Di Lena said.
"Okay." Qiang Wei nodded.
Xu Yi returned home, poured himself a glass of cool boiled water, drank it, and then lazily lay down, feeling completely at ease.
Sure enough, lying down was still the most comfortable.
He sensed space ripple, and a person stepped out of it—or rather, only the upper half of a person did.
Angel Yan stared at Xu Yi in bewilderment. Xu Yi looked back at Yan and said, "Yan, where did your lower body go?"
"Was this your doing, Xu Yi?" Yan asked with a strained smile.
The Angel Channel was public, used to post Angels' mission updates and things they had seen and heard.
As the Sacred Left Wing, Yan's authority was second only to Queen Keisha's, so she had received all kinds of gossip from the channel at the first possible moment.
At first, she had not believed it. After all, Earth was far too distant from Angel Civilization. Billions of light-years was no joke.
But after seeing the channel updates and video files, Yan froze. She began to believe it a little.
So she used Wormhole Transport, intending to give Xu Yi a surprise. Who would have thought that midway through the micro-wormhole calculation, it would suddenly get stuck? Her upper body appeared in Xu Yi's home, while her lower body remained at the Angel outpost in Tianhe City.
Wormhole Transport was a required subject for Angels. Yan could barely be considered an outstanding Angel student, and she had never had an accident before. This time, the transport had gotten stuck. Unless an outside force was involved, she would not believe it.
"Sister Yan, is your butt still outside? Why isn't it moving?" Angel Zhui's astonished voice came from the other side of the wormhole.
Hearing this, the stuck Yan was so embarrassed and furious that she wanted to die. This was utterly humiliating.
