The land where the phoenixes dwelled.
The Ember Calamity had grown increasingly terrifying. Vast quantities of embers continuously assaulted the cities, and the South Sea had also built a super-city like the Bone Demon Royal City in the East Sea.
The city was not beneath the sea, however. It stood within Phoenix City, a massive island forged by moving mountains and filling the sea.
They did not live in the sea.
Perhaps this was the last stubbornness of the sea-dwelling phoenixes.
Ning Zheng fell into the city and looked over the bustling streets. The city had a hundred rings, one within another, and housed hundreds of billions of people.
It seemed that all the tribes and races of the vast South Sea had gathered here to seek refuge and await the destruction and rebirth of the Era.
"They've imitated our East Sea Royal City quite closely."
"They have the Eye of Appraisal, issue quests, and even have the shopkeepers along the road recruiting temporary workers. Question marks float above their heads, too. Quite interesting."
Ning Zheng wandered along the streets for a while. The various social systems perfected by the blacksmiths had been copied wholesale here.
After taking a quick look around and strolling leisurely through several streets, Ning Zheng went straight to the Phoenix Royal Palace.
"Welcome, Xi Rong Manor Lord. You have come from afar."
A delicate little phoenix girl, as pretty as a painted doll, stood respectfully at the entrance in a bright red dress.
Clearly, the entire refuge city had been guarded by an extremely intricate formation. The moment Ning Zheng entered, they had already known he was coming.
"I have business to discuss."
Ning Zheng nodded and followed the phoenix child through the palace gates. Then he suddenly asked, "Which Phoenix Great Emperor
