The Mother River wound onward to an invisible end. Through its translucent inner walls, countless streams of water could be seen flowing endlessly within.
Universes of varying sizes dotted the inner walls like suction cups, clearly visible as they rotated at a steady pace.
Xi Ning wore black-violet armor, an ancient, immense aura of Nothingness swirling behind him. In his hand, he held a longsword blazing with Red Glow upside down.
"Do you really intend to help him break open the Anti-Void?"
With a half-smile that was not quite a smile, he looked toward a patch of Void Darkness opposite him, as though some presence lingered there.
As his voice rippled across the distance, a grayish-white figure slowly emerged from that void. The figure held the Cage Scepter, its tip continuously dispersing great swathes of translucent tendrils.
It was none other than the Star Hunter, one of the two leaders of the Existence Alliance.
The Star Hunter's expression was indifferent. He gently spread his hand, and a tiny grayish-white vortex slowly condensed in his palm.
"Of course it is true. The Anti-Void has always been a hidden danger to us. Wouldn't it be best to seize this chance and resolve it once and for all?"
"Is that truly what you think?" Xi Ning sneered. "Don't lie to me. You and I should both know that even beings standing at the pinnacle, like us, so long as they exist, so long as they live, will know joy, anger, sorrow, fear, and pity. Emotion is part of life, and desire is the continuation of emotion. Or are you planning to bring out that old doctrine of yours again—equality of all beings, the turning of time and space?"
