This face belonged to none other than Professor Varian, who had once taught Lu Sheng.
"Professor Varian!! How could it be you!!?" Andy and A Er Ni, hiding in the darkness some distance away, could not help crying out.
"Why couldn't it be me?" Varian laughed. "The pitiful little insects are making such disbelieving faces. Those are my favorite expressions to watch." He gradually broke into laughter.
"It delighted me, body and soul. Even after all those years in the void, nothing had been as entertaining as this moment."
"Just as you would never have imagined that your classmate, your friend Jack, would actually have this bizarre appearance." Varian pointed at Lu Sheng beside him.
A Er Ni and Andy both froze. They had only felt that Lu Sheng resembled Jack before, but now that Varian had stated it outright, and they compared his manner of speaking and everything else, they became even more certain. Lu Sheng was Jack.
Lu Sheng turned to look at them.
"Why are you here?"
"To save you!" Andy said, licking his lips.
"..." Lu Sheng glanced at the huge horde of Void Demons sneaking along behind him. Monsters filled all four directions, front, back, left, and right. They clearly meant to surround them. If they had really come to save him, they would probably get someone who had been perfectly fine killed instead.
"Jack...! You...!!" A Er Ni found it hard to accept Lu Sheng's current appearance. She opened her mouth, then stopped herself.
"Are you still... you??"
"I have always looked like this. Jack was merely an identity I wore on the surface," Lu Sheng answered casually.
"And my true identity..." He looked at A Er Ni, then suddenly pointed a finger.
An invisible, terrifying shockwave blasted past A Er Ni's cheek.
BOOM!!!
