Hobart and Elizabeth politely greeted each other.
"Hobart, you should have told me sooner that you were Ulysses's friend." Dominic smiled. "If we hadn't met at a banquet at noon, I wouldn't have known about it."
Elizabeth, standing to the side, curiously examined Hobart. In her impression, her uncle Ulysses did not seem to enjoy socializing.
Hobart smiled and corrected him, "My father and Mr. Ulysses were comrades-in-arms. I'm actually Mr. Ulysses's junior."
Dominic laughed. "Any guest who can stay in that villa in the suburbs is one of Ulysses's good friends."
Elizabeth did not intend to keep listening to their conversation. She politely excused herself and went to wait in the Secretary's Office. She had come to tell her father that she would be taking leave tomorrow morning to accompany her good friend Selena to the cemetery to pay respects to her teacher.
The frightening divination from before had made Elizabeth uneasy about letting her friend go alone. If anything happened, she could immediately ask Melissa's brother for help.
Hobart and Dominic resumed discussing the case details. After learning the results of today's visit, Dominic smoked a cigarette and shook his head with a smile. "Investment failures are perfectly normal. Besides, Claude lost everything because he was too greedy. I don't owe him anything, much less give him a single penny in so-called compensation."
At Dominic's request, Hobart conducted an analysis and concluded that they had a very high chance of winning the case.
As he rose to take his leave, he suddenly recalled Claude's expression and reminded Dominic, "Mr. Claude seems to have reached the end of his rope. Be careful that he doesn't do anything irrational."
Dominic smiled and shook his head. "As long as he still has a brain, he won't dare do anything to me."
