Hobart decided to name these black rocks "Stones of Loss of Control," because he felt their most useful ability was to distort an enemy's Extraordinary Characteristics, causing varying degrees of Loss of Control.
As for the power of the Stones of Loss of Control, it was directly tied to Hobart's Sequence. For example, now that he was Sequence 7, using one on a Sequence 8 target gave the target a 30% chance of immediately losing control. Even if they did not lose control immediately, they would basically lose their combat ability.
If used on a Sequence 9 target, there was a 40% chance of making them lose control immediately. Once Hobart advanced to Sequence 6, using it on a Sequence 7 target would give the enemy a 30% chance of immediately losing control, while a Sequence 8 target would have a 40% chance, and so on.
When used against enemies of the same Sequence, unless they were Beyonders prone to Loss of Control, such as those of the Secret Supplicant pathway, the chance of causing them to lose control was very low. Its primary effect was to increase the pressure on the enemy's Spiritual Body and Astral Body, making them extremely weak and even halving the power of their Extraordinary Abilities.
It could also place tremendous pressure on enemies above Hobart's Sequence. If they were not in good condition, there was a very high chance it would cause them to misjudge the situation or become mentally dazed, creating more opportunities for Hobart.
The Stones of Loss of Control were simple to use, much like charms. He only needed to set up an incantation in advance, infuse them with spirituality, then throw one within three meters of an enemy to immediately distort their Extraordinary Characteristics.
