After lunch, Hobart held a meeting with his three subordinates.
Their team's work now consisted first of opening and reviewing the incoming letters. Jessica would mainly read and reply to letters from newspapers and magazines, draw up an interview schedule, and invite reporters to come over soon to complete their interviews.
Lasga and Dike would open letters concerning consultations and commissions. They could reply to consultation letters as they saw fit, but letters regarding commissions could only be answered and accepted after Hobart approved them.
At the end of the meeting, Hobart said he would treat everyone to dinner at a nearby dining room that evening, officially marking the establishment of their team.
After arranging the work, Hobart returned to his office and wrote a reply to Ikanse. While writing, he suddenly remembered Ulysses's instructions, so he wrote another letter to Elizabeth.
In the letter, Hobart gave Elizabeth some "poisonous chicken soup," telling her that death happened every day. She should not dwell only on grief and reverence for life; she also had to look ahead.
