Xue said in the rental carriage, "It's hard to imagine that Mr. A actually refused this commission."
She frowned. "But among the Beyonders we know, it seems only Mr. A has the strength to complete it."
"We should hurry and tell Miss Audrey the news," Fors said. "Even now, I can hardly believe Miss Audrey would issue such a task."
Xue said, "It seems Miss Audrey isn't as innocent as she appears. Could this be some secret struggle within noble circles? Or the prelude to a deliberately provoked war?"
Fors guessed along with her, "Perhaps some influential figures represented by Earl Hall want the situation to become chaotic?"
The two exchanged glances and found it rather absurd. How could minor figures like them possibly guess what those great figures were thinking?
After returning by carriage to Viscount Glynt's residence, Audrey, who had been waiting there for news, immediately felt somewhat discouraged upon hearing that Mr. A had refused the commission.
But she quickly made up her mind. "I'm calling an emergency gathering of the 'Justice League'!"
Xue, Fors, and Glaint looked at one another. There were already four initiators here; only Hobart, one of the initiators, was absent.
Hobart had been busy all morning. They had won both lawsuits, marking a good start for his team.
Over lunch, Hobart reviewed the previous defenses with Jessica and Lasga, pointing out several mistakes they had made during the proceedings.
Jessica, still a newcomer, listened while taking notes, even forgetting to eat.
Lasga also listened attentively, glad that he had made the right choice in joining Hobart's new team. For him, this was an excellent opportunity to broaden his experience and gain work experience.
