Chapter 227: The Image of the Egyptian Death God
Azik grabbed Hobart by the shoulder. "Picture the location of the ruins in your mind."
"Wait a moment!" Hobart took out a 2 Sule banknote and placed it on the carriage seat, then said to the coachman, "I'm getting out."
Otherwise, the rental carriage's coachman would definitely think he'd seen a ghost! A perfectly fine passenger had simply vanished.
Upon hearing Hobart's voice, the coachman immediately pulled the carriage over by the roadside. He waited for quite a while, yet the passenger never got out. "Sir? Sir?"
He went around to take a look in the back. Where was anyone in the carriage?
Fortunately, there was a 2 Sule fare in the carriage. This made him assume that he simply hadn't noticed when the passenger got out, rather than thinking of anything else.
At that moment, the coachman's passenger, Mr. Hobart, was being held by Azik by the shoulder as they traveled through the Spirit World.
The Spirit World contained gorgeous, multicolored mist and Spirit World Creatures of all kinds of shapes. What fascinated Hobart the most was that his feet were not standing on the ground—he and Azik were suspended in midair.
More accurately, the Spirit World had no concept of "ground." There was no up, down, left, or right here, not even a concept of distance. Although they seemed to be standing still, Hobart knew that if they left the Spirit World now, they would already be far from where they had entered it.
Before entering the Spirit World, Azik had warned Hobart not to make eye contact with its creatures.
Hobart lowered his head slightly and observed everything around him only through his peripheral vision.
Suddenly, Hobart saw an ancient black coffin within a mass of black mist.
