Daly's words made Leonard freeze. In theory, with such a major treason case, Hobart's close ties to the Church were no secret. The Church should have reacted immediately.
Yet it was already past ten, and the Church had still made no statement.
Leonard suddenly understood. "So even though Hobart betrayed the Loen Kingdom, he's still a member of the Nighthawks Squad?"
Daly merely smiled without answering.

The villa was located halfway up the mountain. It was said that on clear days, one could look down from the summit and see Dixi County of the Loen Kingdom, as well as the border checkpoints between the two nations.
Hobart did not get up for breakfast in the dining room until after nine. Winter was the off-season for this villa. Its only guests now, aside from Earl Bianchi of the Fenebote Kingdom and his guards and attendants, were Hobart, Christine, and Doffis.
Christine had already finished breakfast and was reading the newspaper. "I only realized today that Feneport Text and Loen Text have many similarities in their writing and spelling. They seem to have both evolved from Ancient Forsac Language."
Hobart sat down as the waiter began serving his breakfast. The staple was a Fenebote Kingdom specialty: croissant.
As he ate, he said, "That's good news. I think it should help me learn the Feneport language."
In Hobart's understanding, the scripts and languages of the four Northern Continent nations had all evolved from Ancient Forsac Language. They were like the languages and writing systems of the various states during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods—clearly different, yet sharing common ground.
The languages of different countries in particular were more like distinctive dialects. They seemed difficult to understand, but as long as one compared
