Hobart stepped out and glanced at the bandits outside the door.
One of the gun-wielding bandits immediately fired at Hobart, hitting him in the chest.
Just as everyone was about to cheer, they saw the Lord calmly brush away the smoke and dust around the bullet hole. He kicked up a stone, striking the gunman squarely in the head.
The stone was like a piece of shrapnel, smashing a hole through the bandit's skull. He died on the spot.
The stone lost some of its momentum, then struck the shoulder of someone behind him, knocked him to the ground, and made him scream in agony.
Only then did the others react, turning and fleeing in a swarm.
Hobart casually picked up several stones and tossed them out as if at random. Several more corpses immediately appeared in the courtyard, though a few bandits still managed to escape.
This group had been scared out of their wits. They had even thrown their weapons onto the ground, so they were no threat at all.
Hobart did not pursue those small fry. He still needed their mouths to spread his fame.
Without Hobart needing to say anything, Shier came out of the house and killed the bandit whose shoulder had been struck. She then respectfully returned the Two-Handed Sword to Hobart.
Hobart put away the sword and said to the dumbfounded Roy, "Go back to the Lord's Manor and have your father bring the men he gathered. I reckon these bandits have accumulated quite a lot. The three of us won't be able to carry it all away."
Roy first spun in a circle like a headless fly before running down the mountain. As he ran, he shouted, "The two 'Lords' on the mountain are dead! This land has a new owner!"
