The treasure Lafite spoke of was naturally the ruin where Medici wandered.
At the end of his prayer, Lafite said, "...Your humble servant only hopes to obtain a portion of the Extraordinary Characteristics of the 'Corrupted Baron' and the 'Chaos Mentor' from within.
"These Extraordinary Characteristics are my family's legacy. The evil spirit inside must still be guarding treasures of even greater value.
"If you are interested, I can take you near that treasure. I will offer everything there to you!"
Hobart withdrew his spirituality and smiled. He was almost too embarrassed to keep using Lafite as a "pawn." Why was Lafite delivering himself right into his hands? If Lafite was willing to "explore," then Hobart could consider harvesting the Extraordinary Characteristics there.
Although Medici's evil spirit could be linked to Adam, Hobart remembered that when Medici left Backlund, he had not taken away the Extraordinary Characteristics in the ruin.
In other words, even if Medici was crucial to Adam's story, Adam had no need for those Extraordinary Characteristics.
Yet for Hobart, a "pseudo evil god," those Extraordinary Characteristics were a considerable fortune. Even if he took them away, it would not draw too much of Adam's attention.
However, there were two difficulties in this operation. First, he needed enough power to intimidate Medici. Considering that Medici should possess strength close to that of a demigod, he would need to use the Creator's image and power to suppress him.
This raised the second problem. If he used the Creator's abilities in Backlund, he could easily attract George III and draw the attention of certain demigods.
Therefore, Hobart could not possibly go to the ruin himself and then summon his own power. George III could easily trap him inside the ruin.
But without the Creator's power, it would be difficult to
