Hobart sighed inwardly. Alger could not be blamed for being too cunning. Little Sun's posture was simply too perfect; anyone would want to fleece him a little.

Alger was quite concerned. Although he had already heard about the assassination from the Church, he did not know the specific details.
Fors was slightly stunned. She had not been in Backlund lately and had not expected something like this to happen.
Derrick still remembered Duke Negan. He recalled that someone had mentioned at an earlier gathering that there had been an attempt to assassinate the duke, but it had failed. Still, he was not particularly interested in Duke Negan's affairs.
Audrey continued, "Apostle of Desire used a special setting to assassinate Duke Negan, then successfully broke through the encirclement at the cost of severe injuries.
"When the Nighthawks caught up to him, he was already dead. It is said that traces of that Death Messenger appeared at the scene again, but Death Messenger was not there to silence him. His target was the organization that had hired Apostle of Desire."
