Backlund Peace Conference

Ten days after the divine war ended, the heads of state of the seven nations—South Baylam, Fenebote, Intis, Fosac, Lenburg, Masi, and Segar—gathered in Backlund, Loen Kingdom, to discuss war reparations and the future international order.

On the first day of the talks, this city still visibly scarred by war, with many areas resembling primeval forests, seemed to become exceptionally lively. People were generally excited. After fighting for so long, peace talks were finally about to begin!

King's Avenue before Sodolak Palace, the conference venue, had been packed with onlookers since early morning. They wanted to see how the most powerful people in the world would guide it back toward peace.

The Intis prime minister and the Fosac Emperor, the leaders of the two defeated nations, arrived first with their enormous teams of advisers.

Seeing the Intis Flag and Fosac Flag hanging from the carriages, the crowd began cursing and picked up stones from the roadside to hurl at them! The windows of many carriages were smashed, though the stones completely avoided the carriages carrying important figures. Only the carriages occupied by ordinary civil servants had their windows broken.

Next, the kings and grand dukes of Lenburg, Masi, and Segar arrived one after another with their delegations. They each had their own demands, especially Lenburg, which had suffered immense losses in the war and dearly wished to receive compensation during the peace talks.

Among those three nations, only the King of Lenburg was greeted by a Prince at the gates of Sodolak Palace.

That was because Lenburg was Loen's ally, while Masi was a neutral nation.

Segar, whose territory did not border Loen and was even separated from it by a vast distance, had yet to establish diplomatic relations with Loen.
