Background / History
Hobart attended Backlund University before becoming an assistant at the Aslan-Barton Law Firm under Lawyer Barton Stanley. He declined ordinary social engagements to explore the Country of Disorder, discovering that the incantations used to enter Source Castle could also bring him there. Barton soon entrusted him with Magistrate Court work. 10
He is a transmigrator who initially had to consciously act as the original “Hobart” to conceal how unlike him he had become. Memories restored after a later advancement revealed that his pre-transmigration name had also been Hobart: his surname was Huo, and he belonged to the generation using the character “Bo.” 52 671
Hobart was raised by Christine and Monlisa alongside his younger siblings, Donna and Tyrone. His biological mother, April, is an Ancient Alchemist; she later revealed herself to Hobart directly and gave him a Coordinate connected to reviving his late biological father, Rex. 18 108 562
The Country of Disorder became central to Hobart’s rise. From its Iron Throne, he learned to wield Order and Distortion, purify or separate Extraordinary Characteristics, store items, empower his Mystical Items, and observe stars representing people connected to the Creator. A blurry figure later identified by Hobart as Trensoost remains sealed within its waters. 18 114 172 332 525
After building a reputation as a lawyer and Extraordinary operator in Backlund, Hobart became embroiled in Christine’s alleged treason. He fled to Feneport with Christine, where Fernando II made him a baron and granted him land in Colson County near Full Moon Lake. Hobart renamed Wright Town as Jeffrey Town, subdued bandits, used the Wright family’s funeral to inherit political legitimacy, and began rebuilding the territory. 323 332 353 360 391
As lord, Hobart invested heavily in infrastructure, land registration, monster hunting, military training, and Extraordinary development. He appointed and advanced trusted subordinates, built an official Extraordinary force, expanded his influence to Shipyard Island and Longtail Island, and developed commercial ventures including Earl’s Light. 392 402 423 457 577
News later disclosed that his supposed defection had been part of a secret royal mission against Fernando II, turning him from a public traitor into a national hero in Loen. His later influence extended across noble society, military intelligence, trade networks, and the Creator’s growing organization. 518 545 610
Appearance
Hobart has black hair, dark eyes, and handsome features. His usual expression is a sunny, open smile that makes him seem approachable despite his increasingly imposing status. 12 529
- Black hair and dark eyes. 12
- Described as handsome, with a cheerful neighborhood-young-man demeanor. 12
- Can shift from energetic practicality in a trench coat to elegant, confident nobility in formalwear. 529
- Uses Order Crystal masks and accessories when discretion or combat requires it. 249 640
Personality
Hobart is pragmatic, calculating, and highly conscious of leverage. As a lawyer and later a ruler, he prefers exploiting loopholes, managing incentives, and making arrangements in advance rather than relying on goodwill alone. He applies the same logic to business, battlefield tactics, territorial administration, and Extraordinary transactions. 90 218 323 392
He is willing to be ruthless when establishing authority, as shown by his punishment of York and his use of bandit corpses as a warning to Jeffrey Town. However, he also invests in reconstruction, protects civilians during monster attacks, rewards capable subordinates, and insists that governance must be people-oriented. 354 360 398 402 500
Hobart frequently reviews his own errors after battle. He distinguishes recklessness from stupidity, believing a Black Emperor pathway Beyonder should confront and challenge rules directly while still withdrawing or using underhanded tactics against stronger opponents. 195 258
