The abilities of the "Outer Deity Attendants" were somewhat unfamiliar to Hobart. He had not made as many preparations or conducted as much research as Amon, so he was extremely cautious when dealing with them at first.

With his duplicate helping him withstand the enemy's attacks, Hobart was in no hurry to retaliate. He first wanted to get a rough idea of the opponent's abilities.

Within the illusion created by the enchanting flower, enormous squares were stacked layer upon layer, row upon row. Every square seemed to contain a terrifying creature staring coldly at Hobart.

Hobart felt the monsters within those squares influencing his duplicate's emotions. One moment he was enraged, the next sorrowful, then fearful.

So he had the duplicate wave a hand. The monsters in the squares were immediately "Altered" into handicrafts, festive toys, and other items with little connection to rage, sorrow, or fear.

Right after that, the duplicate reached into the Country of Disorder and took out a pair of enormous Butterfly Wings.

This was a Mystical Item he had acquired by accident long ago while dealing with the Mist of Uncertainty's contamination on Archibald.

It seemed to contain few Extraordinary Characteristics, but once spirituality was infused into it, the patterns on the wings could easily induce hallucinations.

Hobart later guessed that this Mystical Item might have formed due to the peculiar nature of Outer Deity contamination.

The monster Hobart was facing now produced effects very similar to those created by the Butterfly Wings.

This ability differed somewhat from a Spectator's "Hypnosis" or a Sleepless's manipulation of dreams. It was more like hallucinations caused by taking some kind of drug.

It was difficult to directly "Exploit" or "Distort."

But for an Beyonder at Hobart's level, this was not particularly difficult to resolve.
