"Ghost Emperor tampered with the mental suppressants you took."

Demon Empress was not at all surprised by Di Tian's warning.

"I know. Ghost Emperor is ambitious and unwilling to live beneath anyone else. How could he possibly devote himself wholeheartedly to assisting me?"

"But I don't care. Those artificial drugs can't control my will. If he weren't still useful, I would've killed him long ago!"

"Mm."

Di Tian sighed. "I spoke out of turn. You are no longer the little woman from tens of thousands of years ago who would hide behind Deep Sea Demonic Whale King whenever she saw me."

Demon Empress stood there in a daze, saying nothing further.

Yet the memories in her mind made her nose sting and her eyes redden.

Twenty thousand years ago, she had merely been an innocent, carefree little woman, living without worry beneath the protection of the ocean's overlord, Deep Sea Demonic Whale King.

Later, everything changed. Now, the people and things were all gone. Before she could even speak, tears had already begun to fall.

If she had a choice, how she wished to return to those ignorant, carefree days, even if others mocked her as a foolish, silly little woman.

They traveled in silence. After lifting the seal on Titan Snow Demon King's five senses and restoring his ability to move, the three of them walked out of the Blood Pool together.

Demon Empress, her head concealed beneath a black robe, descended before Ghost Emperor and Nether Emperor.

"I need to leave for a while. Guard this place well. Until I return, there must be no major actions."

Ghost Emperor and Nether Emperor were both utterly puzzled. Their homebody Empress had stayed indoors year-round, never stepping beyond her doors.

Why was she about to run off with someone just because a man had come to invite her today?

They were more than eager to question her in detail, but after looking at Demon Empress's cold eyes, then at Di Tian's dragon pupils fixed upon them, they wisely answered:

It was a pendant shaped much like a leaf, about the size of a baby's palm. Its entire body was black as ink, with ridged lines woven into patterns across its surface, faintly radiating a purple glow.

A long black cord was attached to the pendant. It was not particularly thick, but it was exceptionally tough.

"This is a dragon scale?" Titan accepted it with both hands and looked at Di Tian in confusion.

"Yes."

"This is my Black Dragon Reverse Scale. Ten thousand years ago, I had Huo Yuhao wear it. You may find it somewhat familiar."

"With this, even if someone blind enough to court death breaks into the Far North Core Circle, it will be enough to keep you safe."

Titan tightly gripped the Black Dragon Reverse Scale and respectfully said, "Thank you, Beast God!"

Though his five senses had been sealed beneath the Blood Pool, he did not feel resentful.

Outside the Far North Land, Di Tian and Demon Empress moved swiftly together, streaking toward the southern end of the continent.
