This Is the Promise of Me, Beast God Di Tian!
At this point, she paused before continuing, "My mother once warned me that after female soul beasts took human form and entered human society, they would encounter indescribable dangers. She told me never to show myself with a female appearance."
"So, whenever I was in human society, I disguised myself as a man and acted under a male identity."
"Only today, when Senior entered the Deep Sea Domain to summon the Sea Soul Beasts, did I appear in my true form and come here at the invitation as the representative of our faction."
After finishing her account, she fell silent.
Di Tian did not respond either. He was not silent; he was merely waiting for Lan Fozi to continue asking about the Demon Empress's recent circumstances, so that his explanation would seem more convincing.
Before long, Lan Fozi was indeed the first to speak.
"Senior, has my mother been well lately?"
"When I left the Holy Spirit Cult, I could sense that my mother was suffering terribly because of some inexplicable formation within the Holy Spirit Cult. Though she tried her best to hide it, I could still feel it."
"Over the years, I also learned that the Evil Soul Masters of the Holy Spirit Cult had been gathering medicines that suppressed Spiritual Power. I fear they were intended for my mother. I do not know whether they have harmed her."
Having reached the moment he had been waiting for, Di Tian spoke.
"There is no need to worry. Your mother and the Holy Spirit Cult are bound by a relationship of mutual benefit. Besides, they are not capable of harming a mother as powerful as yours."
"There is one more thing." Di Tian turned his head to look at Lan Fozi, who was listening with her head lowered. "The cooperative relationship between your mother and the Holy Spirit Cult is about to end. When that time comes, the Holy Spirit Cult will perish, and you will no longer need to keep avoiding your mother."
"Really?!" Lan Fozi abruptly raised her head and met Di Tian's gaze, her beautiful bright eyes full of disbelief.
It was not Lan Fozi's fault for doubting him. She had heard similar words from the Demon Empress more than once.
Things like, "Soon," "We will not cooperate for much longer," and "I will take you away from the Holy Spirit Cult very soon."
Unfortunately, they had all been lies—lies a mother made because she did not want her daughter to leave her.
That made sense. Lan Fozi could not possibly have parted ways with her mother over a single grievance. It must have been years of accumulated lies that finally shattered the balance of trust.
Seeing those eyes brimming with disbelief yet overflowing with excitement, Di Tian could not help but grumble inwardly, No wonder they asked me to explain. Her trust in her own child has already hit rock bottom.
"Of course." Di Tian answered with firm certainty.
"Trust me this once. I will definitely give you a satisfactory result."
"Within ten years, your mother will surely leave the Holy Spirit Cult and make a clean break with those human Evil Soul Masters."
Di Tian was once again using the Beast God's reputation as a guarantee. In the world of soul beasts, that carried unquestionable weight.
"Within ten years..." Lan Fozi murmured.
It was not that she was dissatisfied. After waiting for so many years, she had finally received a definite date, with the Beast God vouching for it. She could not have been more satisfied.
Yet with the day drawing near, she found herself unable to suppress the longing in her heart. She wanted to see her mother immediately, but the Holy Spirit Cult Headquarters...
Seeing the hesitation in her heart, Di Tian dispelled her last concern.
"Do not worry. Your mother is not currently in the Holy Spirit Cult."
"Once everything is settled, come with me to see your mother. She truly misses you."
"Okay."
With just that single word, suppressed sobs could already be heard in Lan Fozi's voice.
Fortunately, she had only spoken one word, so she did not break down in tears at this grand banquet. She gripped Di Tian's arm tightly, using the last of her reason and self-control to suppress her emotions.
The rest of her emotions and sounds were released through Spiritual Power, echoing only within Di Tian's sea of consciousness.
As his conversation with Lan Fozi came to an end, the Sea Princess signaled to him that all known hundred-thousand-year Sea Soul Beast Kings and the patriarchs of the various Sea Soul Beast clans had arrived.
Having dealt with Lan Fozi's minor interlude, Di Tian naturally still had matters to attend to.
He swept his gaze across all the Sea Soul Beasts. Though his voice was not loud, it rang clearly beside the ears of every Sea Soul Beast.
"I am sure you are all wondering why I came here and summoned you."
"Since everyone is here, there is no need to hide anything."
"The soul beast race has declined to this point. Our habitats have dwindled by the day. On land, only a corner of the core regions of the Star Dou Great Forest and the Far North Land remains. The nearshore shallows and marsh habitats of the sea have all been lost. The surface and shallow waters have become humanity's shipping routes and hunting grounds. Only the Deep Sea Domain remains."
With his words having reached this point, those present were either hundred-thousand-year Sea Soul Beast Kings or leaders of their respective clans. If they still could not guess Di Tian's purpose, they might as well find a shallow shoal and drown themselves.
Sure enough, Di Tian's following words completely confirmed their guesses.
"The soul beast race has reached its most dangerous hour. As the Beast God, I, Di Tian, intend to unite all remaining soul beasts. In a few years, we will wage war against humanity, seize enough living space for our soul beast race, and swear to protect it for the rest of our lives."
His words echoed through the vast interior of the palace for a long while. Nearly every Sea Soul Beast flashed with excitement, accompanied by surging anger toward humanity.
How many soul beasts had never suffered at humanity's hands? How many had no blood-deep hatred for humans who had slaughtered their kin? Even if Sea Soul Beasts had suffered less persecution, that was only in comparison to land soul beasts.
Of course, they merely let out low growls in response, signaling their approval without giving an affirmative answer.
It was not that they did not want to. Someone was finally willing to lead them in resistance. Rather than be slowly boiled alive by humanity, they might as well risk everything in one desperate fight.
But most of them had their concerns. They feared it would be a futile effort. After all, humanity's strength was plain for all to see, and they feared they might not even possess the ability to make a stand.
More importantly, the uncrowned ruler of the oceans, the Sea Princess, had yet to express any position.
Di Tian could not remain in the ocean forever. Once he left, if they acted beyond their authority, who could withstand the Sea Princess's reckoning?
After seeing the situation clearly, Di Tian immediately declared in a voice that struck the ground like iron, "Once war begins, I will stop all of humanity's top powerhouses and top-tier Soul Guidance Mechas!"
"This is the promise I, Beast God Di Tian, make to the soul beast race!"
"Until death!"
The moment those words came out, the gazes of the Sea Soul Beasts upon Di Tian changed.
Fervor, reverence, admiration—there was no shortage of such emotions, and every one of them had reached its peak.
The heavy breathing of the soul beasts echoed endlessly through the palace.
Even Lan Fozi, who had been overwhelmed by her emotions, could not help but compose herself and stare at him in astonishment.
One had to know that even the strongest soul beasts could not contend with too many of humanity's most advanced Soul Guidance Mechas.
Di Tian had made this promise in the Beast God's name, intending to use his own strength to contend against the powerful experts of an entire race. It was equivalent to staking his life on fulfilling his promise. How could they not revere and admire him? "Roar... Roar, roar..."
The Sea Soul Beasts immediately answered with resounding roars, their cries unceasing.
They also drew away from the Merfolk Clan and stared coldly at the Sea Princess, as though they would swarm forward at Di Tian's command and eliminate all future troubles.
