Li Hao was a little surprised. He had not expected the man to refrain from angrily reprimanding him.
The man looked imposing and heroic, his thick brows lending him an air of authority even without anger. Yet his gentle expression softened the accumulated majesty between those brows, bringing a warmth like a spring breeze brushing the willows.
"What are you painting? Let me have a look."
Li Tianzong walked over and looked at the figure sketched on Li Hao's drawing board. He could just barely make out a woman.
Li Hao's Painting Dao had not yet reached the first rank, and his painting only vaguely resembled its subject. Li Tianzong asked curiously, "Who is this?"
"Mother."
Li Hao meant Chen Hefang, the "mother" of his current body.
He felt his face grow a little hot. His painting skills were still so poor that this hardly counted as a portrait. The subject was utterly unrecognizable.
If he were asked to draw a wanted criminal, the criminal could probably walk up and take down the notice without anyone recognizing him...
Li Tianzong froze at Li Hao's answer, then laughed. "It's quite good, but your mother is prettier than you've painted her here. You'll have to keep practicing."
Li Hao was even more surprised. From the sound of it, the man had no intention of stopping him from pursuing these "heretical ways."
"I'll work hard," Li Hao said.
Li Tianzong rubbed his little head. "Once you're good enough, paint one for me too. Paint all your Older Brothers, and little Hongzhuang as well."
As he spoke, he glanced at Li Hongzhuang, who sat nearby eating pastries.
Little Li Hongzhuang: "?"
Her bright, limpid eyes looked at the two of them in puzzlement. She had no idea what they were laughing and talking about.
