Ch. 442Return and Plans

After the crisis in Sinnoh, Jing He agreed to Darkrai’s offer to fight for him, then prepared to return to Hoenn and plan his Pokémon’s training. The chapter ended with him worrying about the cost of raising his team and searching for a new way to earn money.

  • Darkrai taught Gengar Dark Void and promised to fight for Jing He, even if their opponent turned out to be Arceus.
  • Cynthia told Elite Four Kikuno that Jing He had restrained Dialga and Palkia and resolved the confrontation through negotiation, while Volkner’s exaggerated stories fueled rumors about him.
  • Kikuno considered how to reward Jing He as Mega Evolution drew attention, and Korrina became eager to meet him while training with Lucario.
  • On January 30th, Jing He left Celestic Town for Hoenn, where Volkner and Shiba called out their farewells and Darkrai watched from the Space-Time Tower.
  • During the flight, Jing He reviewed his Pokémon’s training needs, including Gengar’s moves, Urshifu’s new body, and Larvitar’s appetite.
  • Jing He realized that raising his Pokémon would require substantial funds and began thinking of ways to make money, wishing he had a Diancie or another Pokémon that could produce ore or metal.

Ch. 443Visitors from Galar

Jing He returned home and developed new battle strategies while Tinkaton explored making removable armor for Charcadet. Peony and his family arrived in Canalave City, and Jing He unexpectedly met the Galar Champion during a morning run.

  • Jing He came home, gave Indeedee a harmonica, and planned battle tactics including a possible Snow Sand Team for Larvitar's future Tyranitar form.
  • Gengar showed Larvitar around the house, then won their contest to see whose mouth could open wider; Jing He stopped Larvitar from pulling its jaw apart.
  • Tinkaton considered forging removable armor for Charcadet, using Dragonite's quick-release armor and the Red Chain as references.
  • Peony, his daughters Shakia and Botan, and Sonia arrived in Canalave City, where Min Jiang welcomed them and arranged their accommodations.
  • Jing He met Peony while jogging, raced him, and learned that the man he had mistaken for a local was Galar's Champion.

Ch. 444Pioni’s Request

Jing He met Peony, who asked him to take Botan as his student and help guide her while Peony left on a dangerous mission. Jing He agreed and asked Peony to help with Tinkaton’s hammer, which Peony eagerly accepted.

  • Jing He tried to leave Peony, but Peony asked about him and explained that he wanted Jing He to look after his daughter Botan.
  • Peony brought Sonia, Shakia, and Botan to Jing He’s Coffee Shop, where Gengar and the other Pokémon staged an over-the-top musical welcome.
  • Botan recited detailed information about Jing He, and Sonia explained that Botan had transferred to Canalave Pokémon Academy and would live with her.
  • Peony privately asked Jing He to guide Botan, explaining that he had been absent from her life because of his duties as Champion and hoped to spend more time with her after his mission.
  • Jing He agreed to teach Botan but refused Peony’s offer of payment, then asked for Peony’s help as an Item Maker with Tinkaton’s hammer.
  • Peony agreed to inspect Tinkaton’s hammer, while Tinkaton clutched it warily.

Ch. 445Jing He vs. Peony! A Champion Showdown?

Jing He and Champion Peony battled at Canalave Pokémon Academy so Peony could assess Tinkaton before teaching it to forge. Tinkaton defeated Perrserker, and Peony admitted defeat, leaving Director Min Jiang eager to publicize Jing He’s victory.

  • Jing He borrowed the academy training grounds, where Peony proposed a preliminary battle instead of immediately teaching Tinkaton forging.
  • Peony sent out Perrserker, and it clashed with Tinkaton’s hammer as the battle began.
  • Jing He used Tinkaton’s Feint to bypass Protect, then Tinkaton reclaimed its hammer and defeated Perrserker with Gigaton Hammer.
  • Peony praised Tinkaton’s strength and gave Jing He a scroll of forging insights, promising to teach Tinkaton special techniques.
  • Director Min Jiang and the Old Principal arrived to find the damaged training room, and Peony acknowledged that Jing He had beaten him.
  • Min Jiang realized the academy could publicize Jing He’s victory over a Champion and decided the reinforced training grounds could withstand further damage.

Ch. 446Forging Ideas and the Start of School!

Jing He trained Larvitar and Dragonite, discovered Tinkaton and Gengar were experimenting with time powers, and welcomed Botan back at school to help sort his consultation messages. The chapter ended with Botan showing Jing He a blurry photograph from the International Police Department that seemed to depict Silver.

  • Jing He taught Dragonite Earthquake while Larvitar ate rocks, then Larvitar cracked the training ground with a powerful stomp and learned Stomping Tantrum.
  • At a backyard barbecue, Tinkaton struck the Burned Tower Charcoal with its hammer, and Jing He noticed traces of time power as Gengar reversed some of its cracks.
  • Tinkaton and Gengar proposed giving Charcadet's armor a time-reversal function so it could be removed more easily, and Jing He told them to keep studying it.
  • Jing He suggested finding a Salt Rock Behemoth in Paldea, and Tinkaton grew curious about the region it might have come from.
  • When Canalave Pokémon Academy began its term, Botan helped Jing He sort his online messages and showed him a blurry International Police Department photograph that appeared to show Silver.

Ch. 447Back on Track?

Jing He helped Botan locate Silver in Olivine City while balancing his teaching and a Pokémon card show project. The chapter ended with a masked Team Rocket member interrogating a retired Pokémon Hunter about a Pokémon that escaped forty years earlier, just as an explosion interrupted them.

  • Jing He learned that Botan could track Silver and asked Mato about help in Johto, while deciding Team Rocket should not contact Silver yet.
  • Botan helped Jing He save money by offering to handle special effects for Tobias' Pokémon card show.
  • Jing He taught his crowded class about bonds and trust as the basis for Mega Evolution, then left promptly when the bell rang.
  • Botan told Jing He she had found Silver in Olivine City and sent him a photo taken three minutes earlier.
  • A masked Team Rocket member forced a retired Pokémon Hunter to reveal where a Pokémon had escaped forty years earlier, but an explosion interrupted the interrogation.

Ch. 448Celebi’s Forest?

Jing He traveled to Olivine City to find Silver and learned from Jasmine that Silver had entered the forest near Kano Village. After Dragonite and Gengar flew past the Forest Entrance, Gengar spotted something inside the forest, leaving Jing He startled and uncertain about what they had found.

  • Jing He arrived in Olivine City and asked Jasmine about Silver after showing her his photograph.
  • Jasmine recalled that Silver had run into the woods and called White, who had seen him near Kano Village.
  • White took Jing He by boat and then airship to Kano Village, where Grandma Eien confirmed that Silver had entered the forest.
  • Grandma Eien warned Jing He to stay still if he heard the Forest's Voice, but Jing He decided not to search the vast forest.
  • Dragonite and Gengar flew over the Forest Entrance, and Gengar pointed into the forest as if it had discovered something.

Ch. 449The Ruined Lake of Life

Jing He and his Pokémon befriended the exhausted Celebi and learned that Gengar’s Space-Time Orb had drawn Celebi and the young Professor Oak into the present. They found the Lake of Life polluted and began separating the contaminated water so Celebi could help restore it.

  • Celebi attacked Jing He and his Pokémon, but Jing He calmed it with Aura and Energy Cubes, and Celebi fell asleep in his arms.
  • The young Professor Oak woke, introduced himself as Yukinari, and explained that he and Celebi had traveled through time; Gengar admitted that the Space-Time Orb had drawn them there.
  • Jing He and Yukinari carried Celebi to the Lake of Life and found it polluted, with dead trees surrounding the ruined water.
  • Celebi tried to purify the lake with the forest’s power but weakened before it could finish, so Jing He’s Pokémon and Yukinari’s Charmeleon and Kangaskhan built a barrier to contain the polluted water.
  • Wild Pokémon joined the work, and Jing He fed Celebi an Energy Root so it could recover and help restore the lake.

Ch. 450Just Call Me “Grain Amidst the Scenery”

Jing He and his Pokémon spent the night beside Lake of Life, helping Celebi recover and preparing to purify the polluted water. After they discovered hidden Pokémon-trapping machinery in the lake, Bishas arrived and demanded Celebi, leaving Jing He to call for help.

  • Jing He and his companions camped beside Lake of Life, where Celebi played with Larvitar and the group shared dinner beneath the stars.
  • Jing He told Yukinari that he would someday meet Ash and should help guide him and save his Pikachu, then gave Yukinari the name “Jing Zhong Zhi He.”
  • The next day, Jing He, Celebi, Yukinari, and nearby wild Pokémon worked together to purify the lake, while Gengar uncovered pieces of automated machinery for capturing wild Pokémon.
  • Jing He realized the machinery had likely polluted the lake after wild Pokémon destroyed it, and Rotom detected that one piece still had power.
  • Bishas arrived atop a giant spider-like machine, demanded that Jing He hand over Celebi, and was tricked into posing for a photo that Jing He sent to Mato for help.

Ch. 451Team Rocket’s Reaction

Sakaki ordered Team Rocket’s Four Generals to support Jing He and eliminate Bishas after learning that Bishas had stolen defective Dark Balls. Bishas attacked Jing He and the wild Pokémon with the Dark Balls, but Jing He’s team turned the battle against him, ending with Gengar swallowing a Dark Ball aimed at it.

  • Mato warned Sakaki that Bishas was confronting Jing He and had taken the defective Dark Balls, so Sakaki sent Apollo, Athena, Lance, and Radam to support Jing He and eliminate Bishas.
  • In Johto, Apollo told the other Four Generals about Sakaki’s order, and they prepared to give the Pokémon League reason to worry about Team Rocket’s movements.
  • Bishas summoned a violent Tyranitar with a Dark Ball, and Gengar rescued Little Larvitar when Tyranitar attacked it.
  • Bishas launched Dark Balls at nearby wild Pokémon and sent his Pokémon against Jing He, while Jing He stopped Celebi from rushing to rescue the captured Pokémon.
  • Jing He’s Pokémon entered the battle, and Gengar used a black orb attack to put the charging wild Pokémon to sleep.
  • Bishas threw a Dark Ball at Gengar, but Gengar opened its mouth and swallowed it.

Ch. 452Dark Balls? Just Trash

Jing He and his Pokémon fought Bishas to stop him from capturing Celebi and contain the pollution from his destroyed machine. They defeated Bishas and his team, freed the Pokémon from their Dark Balls, and left Bishas to face the awakened wild Pokémon as people from his “hometown” came to collect him.

  • Gengar swallowed Bishas’s Dark Balls while Jing He’s Pokémon fought Bishas’s enhanced Pokémon and defended Jing He from Weavile and Excadrill.
  • Gengar destroyed Bishas’s machine, releasing black liquid that polluted Lake of Life and forced Celebi to focus on purifying it.
  • Bishas ordered his Pokémon and subordinates to attack Celebi, so Jing He froze the lake and joined forces with Professor Oak to defeat them.
  • Celebi, Jing He, and their Pokémon subdued Bishas and his team, and Gengar spat out the Dark Balls it had stored in Dimensional Space.
  • Jing He and his Pokémon smashed every Dark Ball, freeing the captured Pokémon; Gengar then woke the wild Pokémon, which turned on Bishas as Jing He said people from Bishas’s “hometown” were coming for him.

Ch. 453The “Gengar Expedition Team” Is in Action Again!

Jing He and the Pokémon rescued Bishas’s captive Pokémon and worked to restore the Lake of Life, while Bishas was handed over to Team Rocket’s Four Generals. That night, Gengar led an expedition to loot one of Bishas’s secret bases.

  • Radam, Lance, Apollo, and Athena found Bishas bound beneath a tree and learned that Jing He had defeated him.
  • Jing He told Mato that Silver had escaped after Bishas captured him, then urged her to win the child’s trust so he could later work for her.
  • Jing He ordered Bishas’s Pokémon to help clean the lake as Celebi and the others worked to purify it and dismantle Bishas’s machine.
  • After the exhausted group fell asleep, Gengar recruited Celebi, Tinkaton, Dragonite, Charcadet, Urshifu, Larvitar, Scizor, and Weavile for a nighttime expedition.
  • Gengar and the others slipped into Bishas’s nearby secret base and began taking its valuables.

Ch. 454Oh No, We’ve Encountered a “Rule” God

Jing He and his Pokémon helped Celebi restore the Lake of Life, then Celebi and Yukinari returned to their own time. After reaching Goldenrod City, Jing He planned to visit Professor Elm in New Bark Town, but he encountered a Jigglypuff waiting to perform at the harbor.

  • Jing He found that Gengar and the others had recovered valuable items from one of Bishas's secret bases, including a Hard Stone, a Big Root, and two Technical Machines.
  • Celebi fully recovered after bathing in the restored Lake of Life, and Jing He let Larvitar swim while Dragonite watched over it.
  • Jing He said goodbye to Celebi and Yukinari, who returned to their own time, and discovered that Gengar and the others had obtained two pieces of Celebi-infused wood for Tinkaton and Charcadet's armor.
  • On the ferry to Goldenrod City, Jing He considered visiting Professor Elm in New Bark Town and called to arrange a visit.
  • Professor Elm welcomed Jing He and asked Kris to prepare some irritable Pokémon for him to inspect, while Jing He arrived in Goldenrod City and found a Jigglypuff with a microphone waiting by the harbor.

Ch. 455The Fifth “True God”

Jing He and Gengar encountered a Jigglypuff whose singing could put nearly everyone to sleep, though they managed to stay awake and listen. After Jigglypuff doodled on their faces and stormed off, it followed them aboard their ship to New Bark Town, determined to make them appreciate its singing.

  • Jigglypuff stopped the port crowd and defeated a young man's Furret when he sent it to attack.
  • Jing He and Gengar listened as Jigglypuff sang, and its song put the crowd and their Pokémon to sleep while the two remained awake.
  • Jigglypuff doodled on the sleeping crowd, then discovered Jing He and Gengar had listened to its entire song and became delighted.
  • Gengar criticized Jigglypuff's singing and tried to demonstrate, so Jigglypuff drew on Gengar and Jing He's faces before leaving in a huff.
  • Jigglypuff reconsidered and decided to follow Jing He and Gengar, then inflated itself to board their departing ship bound for New Bark Town.

Ch. 456An Aloof Little Tsundere

Jing He rescued Jigglypuff from a storm over Tentacruel Sea and brought it back to New Bark Town, where its aloof affection made it seem ready to join him. At Professor Elm’s Laboratory, Kris led Jing He toward Pokémon that had recently arrived, and Professor Elm asked him to examine them.

  • Jing He watched Tentacruel and Gyarados gather for a fight, then learned from a sailor that the Gyarados had begun appearing in Tentacruel territory more often.
  • Jing He rode Dragonite into the storm to rescue Jigglypuff, and Dragonite learned Hurricane while driving off the Gyarados.
  • Jing He returned to the cruise ship with Jigglypuff, then reached New Bark Town as Jigglypuff followed him while pretending not to.
  • Jing He carried the sleeping Jigglypuff to Professor Elm’s Laboratory, where Professor Elm introduced Kris as a temporary assistant.
  • Kris offered to show Jing He the Pokémon recently sent to the laboratory, and Professor Elm asked him to examine several Pokémon.

Ch. 457Challenge Me? You’ll Have to Beat My Students First

Jing He visited Professor Elm's laboratory in New Bark Town to examine Pokémon sent from Paldea, including Maushold and Three-Segmented Form. As Larvitar crept toward a rock pile, Salt Rock Behemoth emerged, setting up a potentially dangerous encounter.

  • Professor Elm told Jing He that Ginepro from Naranja Academy had sent Pokémon for research, and Kris showed Jing He to his guest room.
  • Silver mistook Jing He for a threat and launched Aipom at him, but Gengar startled Aipom and Jing He caught it.
  • Jing He told Silver he had to defeat one of his students before challenging him, naming Steven Stone or a mysterious Johto student called Silver.
  • Jigglypuff sang to wake Jing He, then taught Larvitar its song before the group visited Professor Elm's research habitats.
  • Jing He examined Maushold and Three-Segmented Form, while Larvitar sneaked toward a rock pile and Salt Rock Behemoth began emerging from it.

Ch. 458The Self-Cultivation of “Lord Salt”

Jing He brought Larvitar and Urshifu to meet the Salt Rock Behemoths, where he discovered that the intimidating leader was secretly putting on a brave act. After seeing through it, Jing He offered the Salt Rock Behemoth a place with him and promised to teach it how to become a true “Salt King.”

  • Larvitar ate Salt Rock Behemoth’s Salt Cure attack and struck it with Stomping Tantrum before Jing He called it back as more Salt Rock Behemoths emerged.
  • Kris identified an unusually large Salt Rock Behemoth as the restless leader causing trouble for the group, and Urshifu appeared to face it.
  • Urshifu and the large Salt Rock Behemoth charged at each other, but Jing He ordered Urshifu to stop just before its punch landed.
  • Jing He read the large Salt Rock Behemoth’s Pokédex entry and realized it was pretending to be tough despite being uneasy and afraid of him.
  • Jing He tasted salt from the Salt Rock Behemoth and invited it to come with him, promising to teach it The Actor’s Self-Cultivation and make it a Salt King.

Ch. 459Precognitive Dream

Jing He welcomed Salt Rock Behemoth to his growing Pokémon household and hosted a salt-baked feast before returning to his work at Canalave Pokémon Academy. Meanwhile, Caitlin foresaw a chain of disasters involving meteors and the sky god, and Jing He ended the chapter preparing to join Steven Stone on an ore expedition in Lilycove City.

  • Indeedee comforted Salt Rock Behemoth with cake, and Jing He welcomed it to the Coffee Shop before cooking a salt-baked feast for his Pokémon.
  • Jing He met Dr. Solanus, who reported that many small meteorites had appeared in Hoenn but few reached the ground.
  • Caitlin dreamed of a meteor shower, an isolated meteor seeking its partner, and the sky god unleashing disasters, then warned Cynthia that more trouble was coming.
  • Steven Stone told Jing He that Roxanne and Flannery were training for the Youth Masters Tournament, which offered a Fifty Million League Credit prize and rare items.
  • Steven Stone invited Jing He and Larvitar to explore valuable ore signals near Lilycove City, and Jing He agreed to go.

Ch. 460Larvitar: The Buffet Is Open!

Jing He and Steven explored a newly discovered island near Lilycove City, where their Pokémon searched for ore and Larvitar eagerly ate it. Mewtwo sent Jing He coordinates for a location about three hundred meters southeast, hinting at something valuable nearby.

  • Jing He and Steven traveled by speedboat to the island while Gengar provoked a group of Sharpedo that chased them.
  • Steven and Jing He entered the forest and reached the island’s rocky center, where they began searching for ore with their Pokémon.
  • Steven’s Claydol helped Gengar and Ice Ninetales locate mineral-rich deposits, while Larvitar ate the ore it found.
  • Jing He received a message from Who Am I, and Rotom announced that it contained location data about three hundred meters southeast.

Ch. 461Deoxys?

Jing He and his Pokémon found Deoxys’s dormant green core beneath the rubble, and its last consciousness entered Jing He’s phone seeking help. After realizing the core might draw another Deoxys, Jing He suggested investigating how the meteorite had gone unnoticed near Mossdeep City.

  • Gengar woke an irritable Donphan and put it to sleep, while Jing He left it Energy Cubes as an apology.
  • Gengar and Larvitar dug beneath the rubble, and a green light entered Jing He’s phone, where a message identified him as a friend.
  • Gengar and Larvitar uncovered a meteorite containing Deoxys’s green core crystal, which Jing He recognized as the sleeping green-core Deoxys’s remains.
  • Steven Stone declined Jing He’s offer to give him the unusual stone, while Larvitar and Tinkaton showed interest in eating it and using its metal for Charcadet’s armor.
  • Jing He inferred that the Deoxys was asking for help and discussed the meteorite with Steven Stone, who explained that Mossdeep Space Center normally tracked fallen meteorites.
  • Jing He suggested that he and Steven Stone investigate Mossdeep City because the meteorite had not appeared in the space center’s records.
