Ch. 502N Left Stunned

Jing He traveled to Unova to deliver the Old Principal’s package and pursue several other plans. In Twinleaf Town, N saw Jing He pass by and became determined to meet the Trainer whose Pokémon expressed baffling devotion to him.

  • Jing He took leave from Canalave Pokémon Academy, agreed to deliver the Old Principal’s package to Shauntal, and flew to Unova with Larvitar and Gengar.
  • Jing He planned to visit Shauntal, help Pokémon who had requested assistance, meet Professor Juniper, and possibly stay for the Youth Master World Championship Tournament.
  • N reflected on his conflict about humans and Pokémon, his escape from Ghetsis’s castle, and the kindness he had witnessed during his travels.
  • N decided to return to Team Plasma and use its power to build an ecosystem for Pokémon, believing Ghetsis would support a better method.
  • N sensed a vivid bond between Jing He and his Pokémon as Jing He rode past, heard their unusual thoughts, and decided to meet him.

Ch. 503Testing the Cadres with a “Champion”?

Jing He encountered Champion Alder and Officer Jenny on his way to Twinleaf Gym, where Alder abruptly offered to make him Unova’s Champion. Jing He avoided answering and joined them for an inspection, while Alder privately asked whether he knew anything about Volcarona.

  • As Jing He rode through Twinleaf Town, Gengar sensed someone watching them, but the gaze quickly disappeared.
  • Officer Jenny called Jing He over while Alder was bothering her, and Alder recognized him by the mistaken name “Jing Taro.”
  • Alder fell asleep mid-conversation, then woke when Officer Jenny’s Haxorus licked him and offered Jing He a place in the Unova League as Champion.
  • Jing He sidestepped the offer by saying he needed to visit Twinleaf Gym, and Alder decided to inspect its facilities with him and Officer Jenny.
  • After Jing He joined them in the jeep with Larvitar, Alder asked him quietly whether he knew anything about Volcarona.

Ch. 504Shauntal and Alice

Jing He visited Twinleaf Gym, where he delivered the DNA Splicers to Shauntal and discussed Alice’s future at Twinleaf Academy. He agreed to teach a class and battle Shauntal so the students could compare their different approaches, while Alder and Officer Jenny hurried to watch.

  • Jing He and Officer Jenny arrived at Twinleaf Gym while Alder slept in their vehicle, and Jing He told Officer Jenny he was not ready to become Unova’s Champion.
  • Alice ran out of the Gym, collided with Jing He, and then hid from Shauntal and Gengar before Officer Jenny followed her.
  • Jing He gave Shauntal the DNA Splicers, recognized the ancient item, and learned that Shauntal had been considering letting Alice leave the Academy.
  • Jing He questioned whether Shauntal’s plan might hurt Alice, and Shauntal acknowledged his concerns about how best to support her.
  • Shauntal invited Jing He to teach a class, and Jing He agreed to battle him so the students could see their differing training philosophies.
  • Alder woke up and rushed to watch Jing He and Shauntal battle, with Officer Jenny also eager to see it.

Ch. 505The Dragon-Slaying Boy Ultimately Becomes an Evil Dragon

Jing He and Dragonite defeated Shauntal’s Haxorus in a battle that astonished the students of Twinleaf Academy and demonstrated their unusual trust and tactics. Shauntal sent out Altaria next, leaving Jing He to wonder whether the Dragon Traitor would appear.

  • Alice and the students gathered at Twinleaf Gym to watch Jing He battle Shauntal, while Champion Alder agreed to commentate.
  • Jing He sent out Dragonite against Shauntal’s ace, Haxorus, and Dragonite used Dragon Dance while enduring Haxorus’s Dragon Claw with Multiscale.
  • Dragonite interrupted Haxorus’s Expanding Force with Air Cutter, and Shauntal used Outrage to break Haxorus’s Flinch.
  • Jing He ordered Dragonite to answer with Outrage, then Dragonite used Dragon Rush while still in its Outrage state and defeated Haxorus.
  • Shauntal sent out Altaria for the second round, and Jing He wondered whether the Dragon Traitor would appear.

Ch. 506“Traitor of the Dragon Clan”

Jing He and Shauntal battled to teach Twinleaf Academy’s students about Pokémon bonds and different approaches to training. Jing He won after Tinkaton exploited Mega Altaria’s Fairy-type weakness, and the chapter left the students applauding both teachers’ lessons.

  • Shauntal sent out Altaria, and Jing He chose Tinkaton, whose Fairy- and Steel-type moves had a major advantage against the Dragon-type Pokémon.
  • Shauntal Mega Evolved Altaria, revealing its Fairy typing and Pixilate Ability, which turned Hyper Voice into a Fairy-type attack.
  • Tinkaton evaded Mega Altaria’s Hyper Voice and struck it with Gigaton Hammer, overpowering its Pixilate-boosted Giga Impact.
  • Mega Altaria reverted to Altaria, but Tinkaton broke through its Dragon Pulse and defeated it, giving Jing He the victory.
  • Alder led the students in applauding Jing He and Shauntal for demonstrating the value of combining academy training with travel.

Ch. 507Awakening Ideals and Reality

After defeating Shauntal, Jing He helped Alice understand that traveling suited her better than academy life and encouraged her to pursue her dream of becoming a Dragon Master. The next day, Jing He set out toward Village Bridge and Nuvema Town, while Truth and ideals stirred somewhere in Unova.

  • N fed a hungry Rattata in an alley outside Twinleaf Gym, then vanished with Team Plasma's Dark Triad.
  • Shauntal gave Jing He the Legend Badge and a Technical Machine for Wide Guard, then asked him to speak with Alice.
  • Jing He took Alice to the top of Twinleaf Radio Tower and reassured her that Shauntal believed she would thrive in nature and travel rather than at the Academy.
  • Alice declared her dream of becoming a Dragon Master, and Jing He encouraged her to return home and make Shauntal proud.
  • Jing He departed for Nuvema Town by way of Village Bridge, and Cynthia and Caitlin called him while he traveled through Unova.

Ch. 508Island Not on the Map

Jing He followed Rotom’s coordinates to an unmapped island, fighting groups of unusually powerful Basculin on the way. Beneath the island, Team Plasma scientist Colress learned an intruder had arrived and ordered his subordinates to capture them alive.

  • Rotom directed Jing He across the sea, where Ice Ninetales froze a path for his Rotom Bike to reach an island missing from the Pokémon League’s map.
  • Red-striped Basculin attacked Jing He, but Ice Ninetales and Rotom defeated them with Freeze-Dry and Discharge.
  • Gengar spotted blue-striped Basculin approaching, and Jing He decided to land on the island.
  • At a hidden underground institute, Colress investigated traces of a Pokémon that had entered through his network firewall.
  • A Team Plasma member reported the intruder and the destruction of the institute’s sea-monitoring devices.
  • Colress ordered his subordinate to capture the intruders alive so he could question them about the mysterious Pokémon.

Ch. 509Jing He’s Little Admirer

Jing He discovered Team Plasma’s P2 Laboratory, escaped its enhanced Scolipede, and reported the base to the International Police. Colress became fascinated with Jing He and agreed to help Vio obtain the DNA Splicers, while a Pokémon in Team Rocket’s base foresaw that Jing He would need its help.

  • Gengar exposed Team Plasma’s surveillance camera, and Jing He identified the island as the site of the P2 Laboratory and suspected Genesect had contacted Porygon-Z.
  • Team Plasma sent enhanced Scolipede to surround Jing He, who used Dragonite, Ninetales, Rotom, and Ceruledge to defeat them and escape the island.
  • Colress examined the frozen Scolipede, admitted he was Jing He’s fan, and asked his subordinates to find a way to contact Jing He.
  • Colress agreed to help Vio catch a powerful Ice-type Pokémon in exchange for assistance obtaining the DNA Splicers.
  • Jing He reported the P2 Laboratory and Team Plasma’s illegal research to International Police headquarters, prompting them to alert a Unova Region specialist.
  • At Team Rocket’s base in Viridian City, a Pokémon saw a vision of Jing He needing its help.

Ch. 510Zekrom? Rotom, Give It a Shot!

After reporting a Team Plasma lead to the Unova International Police, Jing He visited Professor Juniper and learned about her former classmate Colress. At Nuvema Town’s harbor, Gengar and Larvitar used Rotom to electrocute a fish, drawing Zekrom’s attention; the Legendary Pokémon vanished after Jing He met its gaze, leaving him wondering what it wanted.

  • Jing He traveled to Nuvema Town, where the Unova Region International Police converged after receiving his information about Team Plasma.
  • Jing He told Professor Juniper about the enhanced Scolipede, and she recalled that Colress had been her withdrawn, unsettling classmate before disappearing and becoming wanted by the Pokémon League.
  • Gengar and Larvitar persuaded Rotom to help them catch a fish by electrocuting the sea near the harbor.
  • A bolt of azure lightning struck Rotom, but it left Rotom unharmed and raised its battery level to one thousand percent.
  • Jing He recognized Zekrom in the storm clouds and jokingly told Rotom to blast it; after Jing’s gaze met Zekrom’s, the clouds, lightning, and Legendary Pokémon disappeared.

Ch. 511So-Called Ideals and Truth, Jing He's Beliefs

Jing He discussed how humans and Pokémon should coexist with Alder, helping him reconsider his grief over Volcarona through the importance of their memories and bond. As the International Police prepared to raid P2 Laboratory the next morning, Colress and other Team Plasma members escaped the island aboard the Plasma Frigate.

  • Jing He met Looker, Senior Superintendent Schulz, and apprentice inspector Black in Nuvema Town, then helped plan an early-morning assault on P2 Laboratory with Alder and the International Police.
  • At Professor Juniper’s Laboratory, Alder asked Jing He about Team Plasma’s beliefs and how humans and Pokémon should live together.
  • Jing He explained that battles could deepen the bond between Trainers and Pokémon, and that Poké Balls were tools whose use depended on both parties.
  • Jing He told Alder that memories and bonds endured even after a Pokémon’s death, easing Alder’s conflict over Volcarona and Team Plasma’s philosophy.
  • Colress and some Team Plasma members escaped P2 Laboratory aboard the Plasma Frigate before the planned raid.

Ch. 512World-Ending Insects, Deploy!

After learning that Colress had fled the P2 Laboratory with the Doomsday Bug Genesect, Jing He split the response: Alder and Schulz would seize the laboratory while Jing He pursued Colress. Colress then activated five Genesect aboard the Plasma Frigate, whose eyes turned scarlet as they prepared to move out.

  • Gengar read Porygon-Z’s message on Jing He’s phone and discovered that the Genesect had moved, then Jing He used the coordinates to track them.
  • Jing He concluded that Colress had abandoned the P2 Laboratory and fled with the Genesect, so he decided to pursue Colress while the laboratory was seized.
  • Jing He woke Alder and Schulz, explained the situation, and persuaded Alder to remain with Schulz and the International Police to lead the assault on the P2 Laboratory.
  • Alder agreed to send capable Trainers to support Jing He once he had narrowed down Colress’s location, and Jing He left Nuvema Town on Dragonite.
  • On the Plasma Frigate, Colress reassured Vio as five Genesect emerged from sealed chambers and their eyes turned scarlet.

Ch. 513Jing He: Don’t Make Me Flip the Table!

Jing He tracked Team Plasma toward northern Unova after Colress cut off the Genesect signal, then discovered an injured Keldeo aboard his train. Keldeo warned him about Kyurem, and Jing He realized Team Plasma was likely heading to Giant Chasm to capture it.

  • Colress sealed Porygon-Z's information port, cutting off the Genesect's coordinates, so Jing He and Dragonite headed for Mountain Road Town to continue the search.
  • Jing He bought local food from a girl who recalled strange dark clouds flying north, then boarded a train toward Kagome Town.
  • Jing He learned from Alder that the P2 Laboratory had been raided and Team Plasma's crimes exposed, while Colress and other members had escaped.
  • Gengar and Ceruledge found a badly injured Keldeo on the train roof, and Jing He treated it with Aura and Energy Roots.
  • Keldeo briefly warned Jing He to help the Swords of Justice and mentioned Kyurem before passing out.
  • Jing He realized Team Plasma was probably targeting Kyurem at Giant Chasm with Colress's machine and the five Genesect.

Ch. 514Keldeo: I Have to Be Able To!

At the Pokémon Center, Keldeo told Jing He how its attempt to help the Swords of Justice led to their being trapped in ice with Kyurem, while unknown Pokémon attacked them. Jing He decided to investigate Giant Chasm, and Keldeo resolved to go with him despite its injuries.

  • Nurse Joy told Jing He that Keldeo was out of danger, and Keldeo thanked Jing He for saving it.
  • Keldeo explained that it had rushed into the Swords of Justice's battle with Kyurem, where Kyurem broke its horn and the three protectors were injured defending it.
  • Keldeo revealed that another group of Pokémon attacked Kyurem and the Swords of Justice; Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion helped Kyurem drive off the attackers before Kyurem encased them in ice.
  • Jing He suspected the unknown attackers were Genesect and the other Doomsday Bugs, and decided to investigate Giant Chasm and stop Team Plasma if it had not already succeeded.
  • Despite Nurse Joy's concern about its injuries, Keldeo agreed to leave with Jing He after he told it he believed it could do it.

Ch. 515Keldeo Is Gradually Being Influenced

Jing He and his Pokémon traveled toward Giant Chasm to assess Kyurem’s presence and find a way to save Cobalion and the other Swords of Justice. When Cryogonal attacked, Larvitar stood up to them and Keldeo overcame its fear to help, leaving it with new ideas about courage, earning respect, and why a warrior wielded a sword.

  • Jing He took Keldeo and the others toward Giant Chasm, explaining that they would first check whether Kyurem and the unknown Pokémon were still there before deciding how to rescue Cobalion and the others.
  • Cryogonal emerged from the freezing mist and surrounded the group, so Ceruledge, Urshifu, Tinkaton, and Gengar attacked while Jing He watched Keldeo face another group of Cryogonal.
  • Larvitar blocked the Cryogonal’s Ice Beams with rocks and struck back with Rock Slide and Iron Head, then Keldeo conquered its fear and joined it in defeating them.
  • Keldeo asked Ceruledge about being a swordsman and the weight of a sword, and Ceruledge explained that it wielded its blades to protect Jing He.

Ch. 516Genesect in the Snow!

Jing He and his Pokémon reached the Giant Chasm with Keldeo and found Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion frozen in ice, while Team Plasma held Kyurem captive aboard the Plasma Frigate. As they tried to free the Swords of Justice, five hostile Genesect appeared in the blizzard.

  • Keldeo led Jing He and the others into the Giant Chasm, where Ice Ninetales raised a snowstorm and the group advanced cautiously.
  • Colress revealed that Team Plasma had captured Kyurem but could neither control it nor use its power, and he asked Vio to help find the DNA Splicers.
  • Tinkaton defeated a massive Cryogonal that blocked their path, and Keldeo found Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion frozen in place.
  • Keldeo failed to break the ice protecting the Swords of Justice, while the others examined the seemingly indestructible Ice Crystal.
  • Gengar sensed danger, and five Genesect emerged from the mist and snow, alarming Keldeo and Jing He.

Ch. 517VS. Five Genesect!

Jing He and his Pokémon split the weakened, injured Genesect apart and fought them in the snowstorm. Keldeo awakened its Secret Sword while protecting the Swords of Justice, helping Mega Gengar drive off the red Genesect and its team; Ceruledge also made contact with the Genesect that wanted peace.

  • Jing He used Ice Ninetales's walls and Aurora Veil to evade the Genesect's first Techno Blast volley, then ordered Dragonite, Tinkaton, Urshifu, Ceruledge, and Ice Ninetales to separate the Genesect.
  • Gengar distracted the red Genesect while Jing He realized the team had been weakened by its battle with Kyurem and by the loss of Colress's enhancement.
  • When the red Genesect fired indiscriminately toward the Swords of Justice, Keldeo stood to protect them, and Gengar Mega Evolved to face the blast beside it.
  • Keldeo awakened its Secret Sword and charged into the Techno Blast as Mega Gengar vanished, struck the red Genesect from behind with two Shadow Balls, and followed up with Will-O-Wisp.
  • The red Genesect and its four companions fled after firing a final barrage, and Jing He stopped Dragonite from pursuing them.
  • Ceruledge told Jing He that it had communicated with the Freeze Cartridge Genesect, which wanted to coexist peacefully.

Ch. 518Kyurem’s “Gift”

Jing He and his Pokémon defeated the five Genesect and freed the Swords of Justice, helping Keldeo find resolve as a sword wielder. Ice Ninetales revealed it could absorb Kyurem-like ice, so Jing He led the group deeper into the Giant Chasm to investigate Kyurem’s lingering energy.

  • Jing He and his Pokémon defeated the five Genesect, and Larvitar resolved to become stronger while Keldeo thanked them for helping it understand how to wield its sword.
  • Jing He tended to the injured Pokémon, then Ceruledge prepared to melt the ice sculptures holding the Swords of Justice.
  • Ice Ninetales stopped Ceruledge and used its own Mist to absorb Kyurem’s ice, freeing Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion.
  • Keldeo reunited with the Swords of Justice, who praised its growth, while Jing He and his Pokémon gave them space to recover.
  • Ice Ninetales explained that the ice resembled Never-Melt Ice and that its Permanent Ice Wall shared qualities with Kyurem’s ice.
  • Jing He suspected Kyurem had left behind ice crystals whose energy was spreading through the Giant Chasm, and he led the group deeper to investigate.

Ch. 519An Icebound World?

Jing He and his Pokémon explored Kyurem’s cavern in Giant Chasm, where Ice Ninetales absorbed the lingering cold and found two scales Kyurem had shed. After the group restored the damaged cave, Jing He planned to warn Alder about Kyurem’s disappearance and address the Genesect situation.

  • Ice Ninetales led Jing He and the others through Giant Chasm to Kyurem’s cavern, where its powerful frost froze Gengar and Ceruledge’s flame.
  • Ice Ninetales absorbed the cold mist while Larvitar, Tinkaton, and Ceruledge broke into the ice and exposed the meteorite rock beneath.
  • Ice Ninetales found two of Kyurem’s scales and gave them to Jing He, who kept one for Ice Ninetales and gave the other to Dragonite to help it build Ice resistance.
  • Ice Ninetales restored the wrecked cavern with ice, and Jing He suspected its improved power might be related to Kyurem’s Freeze Shock.
  • Jing He decided to tell Alder that Kyurem had vanished and to find a safe home for the Genesect, while Keldeo and the Swords of Justice thanked him and offered their help and sword techniques.

Ch. 520Whatever You Need, I’ll Do My Utmost to Help!

Jing He told Alder that Team Plasma might have captured Kyurem, and they agreed the League needed to act before Colress could control it. After Cobalion thanked Jing He for helping Keldeo and gave him a Fist Plate fragment, it asked him to help the suffering Genesect, and Jing He promised he already planned to do so.

  • Jing He told Alder that Team Plasma might have taken Kyurem, and Alder warned that Colress's machine could strengthen and control Pokémon.
  • Jing He reasoned that Team Plasma had probably not yet controlled Kyurem because they were retreating, and Alder said the League needed to hurry.
  • Cobalion thanked Jing He for helping Keldeo understand the responsibility of a Sword of Justice and gave him a fragment of the Fist Plate.
  • Jing He felt the Fist Plate fragment stir his Aura and wondered whether it could help Bear Coaching.
  • Cobalion asked Jing He to help the Genesect, and Jing He promised to help whenever he could.
  • Cobalion declared that it and the other Swords of Justice would give their all whenever Jing He needed them.

Ch. 521Pokémon Manor

Jing He visited Pokémon Mountain Villa in Nute City, where his Pokémon befriended the resident Pokémon as he considered building a similar habitat. After Cynthia and Caitlin agreed to come, Porygon-Z warned him that the Genesects were heading his way and would arrive in one hour.

  • Jing He explored Pokémon Mountain Villa with Nurse Joy and let his Pokémon meet the Pokémon living there.
  • Ceruledge, Urshifu, Larvitar, Dragonite, and Tinkaton each impressed or befriended Pokémon in the villa, while Gengar shared Energy Cubes with a timid Sableye in exchange for gems.
  • Jing He considered creating a Pokémon habitat with Mimicry Zones, and Nurse Joy suggested he visit Blueberry Academy's Terarium Dome for ideas.
  • Cynthia and Caitlin contacted Jing He and said they could reach Nute City that night, while discussing Team Plasma and the Unova League.
  • Porygon-Z informed Jing He that the Genesects were heading to his location and would arrive in one hour.
