"Out of touch with reality? I truly can't deny that."
Mengduoluo nodded lightly and sighed.
"What about you two? Luo Qi, Matt, what do you think?"
"We... don't know much about the Spark Organization, Captain. Why do you ask?"
The two, who had been digging halfway through, turned around and looked at their captain with feigned confusion.
Ever since the mysterious person who claimed to be from the Spark Organization had invited them to join Spark, he had never contacted them again.
While the two had been puzzled by this, they had gradually put it out of their minds, assuming that he might not contact them again until before they graduated.
Mengduoluo had keenly noticed Matt's suddenly strange expression and that intense look in his eyes when Knight Girl mentioned "resisting the rule of the Empire's high-ranking nobles."
Although the Youth immediately concealed it, Mengduoluo would never mistake that sort of gaze. Only the most unforgettable hatred could make someone reveal an expression as beastlike as that.
"It's nothing. As Miss Ailisha said, the Spark Organization was founded by Professionals of common birth, with the goal of resisting the rule of the Empire's nobility.
As far as I know, the two of you, like me, also seem to come from commoner backgrounds."
With an odd smile, Mengduoluo glanced around, blinked his scarlet eyes, and slowly spoke.
"So, as a member of the Spark Organization, I sincerely hope the three of you can join us—"
Mengduoluo's words shocked both of them.
"Captain Mengduoluo, so you're also...!"
Matt immediately glanced around warily, afraid that their treasonous conversation might be overheard.
"Also?"
Seeing their reactions, Mengduoluo froze for a moment before suddenly understanding.
"I see. I should have guessed... Don't worry, Matt. I just saw the last person besides us leave this cave."
