Anvis's goal on this trip was Dark Tidis of the Four Nightmares.

The Four Nightmares were actually evenly matched. All of them had mastered over ninety percent of their authority; only the traits they specialized in differed.

As the name implied, Tidis's trait was "darkness."

In Anvis's view, Tidis's "darkness" was the most suitable identity for him to replace. Of the other three Nightmares—Despair, Madness, and Lust—none suited him better than darkness.

At Anvis's command, the mirror before him began shifting rapidly. When the image within finally stabilized again, the surroundings outside the mirror had become the interior of a pitch-black palace.

There were no lights anywhere in the hall. The only light source came from the ceiling: countless dim, pale, frigid points of light that seemed to originate from the depths of the Dark Starry Sky.

At the center of the hall, a tall figure sat upon a stone throne. He wore a pitch-black hooded robe, his face completely obscured by darkness.

When the insubstantial mirror appeared within the hall, the figure's hood shifted slightly, as though he had cast some kind of gaze toward it.

Tidis found this strange. His palace was shrouded in his Darkness Domain, and ordinary Dream Teleport could not reach it. For this mirror to appear here, it had to possess something unusual.

He could sense Anvis's aura from the mirror—a Nightmare Spirit who had only recently broken through to the Seventh Rank. Perhaps he had been testing a skill acquired after his breakthrough and had accidentally stumbled into Tidis's palace.

Unfortunately, he had only just broken through, yet he was already destined to return to Eternal darkness.

At Tidis's command, the darkness in the hall seemed to suddenly become tangible, wrapping around the mirror Anvis had conjured like a mass of dense ink.
