After leaving Landon's space, Anvis's avatar reappeared on the battlefield.
The clash between the Ninth Ranks and the Yellow-Robed Figure was the strangest battle she had ever seen.
There was no earth-shattering exchange of Magic, nor were there any shockwaves from the battle. Only an eerie silence filled the battlefield.
After sensing danger, Landon had immediately hidden in his space, causing the temporary entrance to that special space to open directly at the very center of the battlefield.
Yet even standing here, Anvis was completely unable to observe the specifics of the battle.
Everything around her was hazy, like oil paint blurred into an indistinct smear after water had been splashed over it.
Shimmering, irregular patches of color pulsed as though breathing. Twisted black-and-white lines stretched and drifted, while Mana rose and fell like steam, gleaming with a heavy metallic luster that warped and yellowed everything.
After staring at the battlefield for slightly too long, blurry stains and white noise rapidly began appearing in her vision, as if the entire world had become a badly distorted old photograph.
The effect on her vision did not immediately fade when she looked away. Anvis was unsure whether this condition was permanent, but at least it would not kill her right away.
This allowed Anvis's avatar to successfully reach the center of the battlefield without immediately dissipating from observing that figure.
Of course, Anvis's earlier warning to Landon and the others had not been empty words. He ultimately possessed the solid strength of an Eighth Rank, and the one he had sent to investigate was an avatar he could abandon at any time. His ability to withstand danger far surpassed that of Landon and the other two.
"How am I supposed to use this?"
