One was the son of a marquis subordinate to his family. The other was a descendant of a minor noble who had seen his face from afar when boarding.
Both greeted him very politely and tried to invite him to dine at another table.
However, when Anvis politely declined their invitations, both of them tactfully took their leave.
After those two incidents, the clever Hillyl had avoided asking about Anvis's surname.
She had a feeling that Anvis might have deliberately avoided mentioning the matter in front of them because he was worried it would create a rift in the relationship between the three of them.
After dinner, Anvis returned to his cabin. But before he could sit down at the table, there was suddenly a knock on his door.

The visitor was an Academy mage. Upon seeing Anvis, he gave a slight bow and handed him a letter stamped with silver patterns.
After thanking the mage who delivered it, Anvis returned to his room and traced a simple mana sigil across the envelope's surface with his finger.
The silver patterns on the envelope flashed faintly, then slowly contracted to either side, revealing the seal at its center.
The letter had been sent by the leader of the merchant caravan under Anvis's command. The Parchment bearing the Crystal Bird Emblem recorded the results of the tests Anvis had specifically requested.
