Li Zhōujūn smiled as he took a sip of wine, gazing at his stone statue atop Yunju Mountain. "Do you remember the first time we formally crossed paths? It was over competing for that little girl Sū Nán as a disciple."
Murong Xue said helplessly, "Who knew you were hiding your cultivation back then? If you were in my place, would you have had the heart to watch a genius with a Saint-grade Ice Spirit Root and a bright future follow someone who couldn't cultivate?"
"Hahaha, true enough." Li Zhōujūn smiled. "Do you remember Grandma Golden Flower?"
"Pfft, of course I do. You even got a bump knocked onto your head back then." Murong Xue giggled.
The corner of Li Zhōujūn's mouth twitched. "I'd only just been teleported there by the Spatial Jade Cicada. How was I supposed to know it would be such a coincidence? Besides, didn't I make her dance afterward?"
"So you made her dance just to let her repay you for that knock? I thought you simply had unusual tastes." Murong Xue laughed.
Li Zhōujūn rolled his eyes. "Who would randomly fall for an Old Woman?"
"Of course, unless that Old Woman offered enough."
Murong Xue: "..."
"I'm joking, hahaha." Li Zhōujūn threw his head back and laughed.
After that, Li Zhōujūn chatted with Murong Xue about many things he had encountered in the past: the strange creature in the temple, the White Bone Demon Lord, and the girl whose pumpkins had been stolen.
Murong Xue did not speak, however. She simply sat quietly to the side and listened to all of Li Zhōujūn's stories. Her beautiful eyes seemed to hold stars as she gazed admiringly at the endlessly talkative Li Zhōujūn, the corners of her lips curving faintly upward.
It was a beautiful scene.
