The girl lying on the middle-aged man's back wore a purple dress. She was as still as a maiden, her hair like ink splashed across paper. Though her eyes were closed as she lay on his back, anyone who saw her would feel that she was beautiful. Yet her eyes were tightly shut, her brows furrowed, and beads of cold sweat dotted her fair, slender forehead.
"Young Miss, once we reach Jade Sand City and find the Eldest Young Master, we'll be safe." The pale-faced middle-aged man spoke to the unconscious Purple Skirt Woman behind him, but she had already fallen unconscious, making his words sound more like muttering to himself.
