Ch. 302Scenery

Gawain arrived in Loguetown, where Marines fawned over him and mistook Smoker’s integrity for an elaborate bid for power. At the execution platform, Gawain reflected on Roger’s death and promised to help give the seas a new face.

  • Gawain arrived in Loguetown and ordered Smoker to serve aboard his ship as a security guard.
  • Loguetown’s Marines congratulated Smoker for supposedly maneuvering his way into Gawain’s circle, while Smoker angrily denied their claims of corruption and ambition.
  • Hancock, Ace, and Sabo visited the execution platform, and Gawain sent Ace, Sabo, Isuka, and Koala to explore the town.
  • Ace took Sabo and the others to Loguetown’s biggest bar, where he soon fell asleep after drinking.
  • Rayleigh and Zephyr discussed the suffering caused by Roger’s death and the Great Pirate Era, and Zephyr urged Gawain to help change the seas.
  • Gawain sat on Roger’s execution platform, looked over the crowd, and said he would bring a new scene to the sea.

Ch. 303Longevity

Gawain left the execution platform and visited a Loguetown weapon shop, where he bought Yubashiri and explained that he had glimpsed a future swordsman who would use Three-Sword Style. As he prepared to arrange work at the harbor, East Blue Marine Admiral Nelson Roy approached him with news concerning immortality.

  • Rayleigh drew his sword and killed pirates who insulted Roger and Gawain beneath the execution platform.
  • Gawain decided he wanted to shape the seas’ future, then thanked two Marines and led his companions to Loguetown’s weapon shop.
  • Gawain bought Yubashiri and the shop’s other good weapons, while Kalifa arranged payment and supplies for the Dark Bird Ship.
  • Gawain told his companions that a future swordsman would buy Yubashiri and Sandai Kitetsu, use Three-Sword Style, and have the potential to defeat Mihawk.
  • Nelson Roy knelt before Gawain and said he had an important matter to report concerning immortality.

Ch. 304Nojiko's Adventure

Gawain rejected Nelson’s pursuit of immortality and ordered Lucci to address corruption in the East Blue Marines. Seven days later, Nojiko learned that Gawain was coming to Cocoyasi Village and fainted when she saw him at the orange grove gate.

  • Nelson offered Gawain his records about the Millennium Dragons in exchange for a piece of dragon bone, but Gawain condemned him for misusing Marine resources and had Lucci deal with him.
  • Gawain and his officers left Nelson behind with Lucci and Shiryu, while Gawain framed the cleanup of East Blue Marine corruption as service to Sengoku and the Five Elders.
  • Genzo visited Nojiko and told her the Arlong Pirates were demanding double protection money, claiming they could use Jinbe to protect the village from the approaching Celestial Dragon.
  • Nojiko rejected the fishmen’s offer and said she trusted the Celestial Dragon, but Genzo warned her that a Celestial Dragon had once hunted children on the island.
  • Gawain arrived at Nojiko’s orange grove with Issho and introduced himself as a traveler; Nojiko recognized him and fainted, so Gawain caught her.

Ch. 305Brother-in-Law!!!

Gawain arrived at Cocoyasi Village and met Nojiko, who repeatedly fainted in his arms, while Nami warned Genzo that the Arlong Pirates planned to abandon the villagers before the Celestial Dragons arrived. Nami mistook Gawain for Nojiko’s boyfriend, then recognized him as a Celestial Dragon, and Nojiko invited him for citrus tea.

  • Gawain woke Nojiko and told her he wanted to take the orange trees aboard his ship, asking her for a drink.
  • Nami emerged from Nojiko’s chimney and warned Genzo that the Arlong Pirates intended to steal the villagers’ money and flee before the Dark Bird Ship arrived.
  • Nami found Gawain holding an unconscious Nojiko and demanded a red packet from her supposed brother-in-law in exchange for her approval.
  • Nojiko woke, punched Nami, and explained that she was her little sister, while Gawain called Nami cute.
  • Nami recognized Gawain as a Celestial Dragon, and Nojiko invited him to have citrus-flavored tea.

Ch. 306A Mere Hundred Thousand~

Gawain visited Bellemere's house with Issho, where Genzo's memories of a cruel Celestial Dragon left him terrified despite Gawain's apology and kindness. Nami's amazement at Gawain and Issho's immense wealth turned to anguish as she compared it with Arlong's 100-million-Beli price for Cocoyasi Island.

  • Nojiko brought Gawain and Issho to Bellemere's house, and Genzo recognized Gawain and begged him to spare Nami and Nojiko.
  • Gawain helped Genzo up, apologized for the suffering caused by Celestial Dragons, and offered him wine and comfort.
  • Genzo told Gawain that he had welcomed a Celestial Dragon when he was seven, then lamented that Gawain had not been the one to visit Cocoyasi Village.
  • Nami defended Gawain, brought Issho a blanket, and jokingly demanded a hundred thousand Beli for cleaning it.
  • Gawain made Nami a golden orange tree and told her his ship cost over two trillion Beli, while Issho revealed his six-billion-Beli annual salary.
  • Nami compared their wealth with Arlong's valuation of Cocoyasi Island at one hundred million Beli and asked why they could so easily possess what her people could never obtain.

Ch. 307Arlong Park

Gawain comforted Nami and promised to free Cocoyasi Village from Arlong, while Nojiko mistook the scene for another sacrifice her sister had made. At Arlong Park, Rayleigh and Jinbe prepared to confront Arlong’s crew, whose members were discussing their planned escape and condemning Jinbe.

  • Nami asked Gawain to help Cocoyasi Village and offered herself in exchange, but Gawain refused and invited her to become his navigator.
  • Gawain apologized for arriving late, promised to remove the burden from Nami and the village, and comforted her as she cried in his arms.
  • Nojiko saw Nami clinging to Gawain, dropped the teapot, and collapsed in despair, believing her sister had sacrificed herself to protect their family.
  • Rayleigh told Jinbe that Arlong’s crew had devastated nineteen islands and killed at least ten thousand civilians, and Jinbe agreed that Arlong had to die while asking Gawain to spare those who deserved to live.
  • Rayleigh reached Arlong Park and sent Jinbe ahead to speak with his old companions while he stayed outside to prevent anyone from escaping.
  • Arlong’s patrolmen discussed abandoning the base and argued over whether Jinbe or Arlong was their loyal brother.

Ch. 308Lying Low in the East Blue

Jinbe subdued the fish-men who had followed Arlong, while Arlong confronted Nami and reflected on why he had fled to the East Blue. The chapter ended as Arlong sensed Jinbe approaching his hideout.

  • Arlong heard a thunderous explosion and recognized Jinbe's scent near the hideout.

Ch. 309Humble Eyes

Gawain recruited Nami and Nojiko to his crew and took them to confront Arlong, while Jinbe confronted Arlong at Arlong Park over his use of their deceased mentor’s ideals to enslave humans. Arlong defended his actions as a way to instill pride in fish-men, and the confrontation remained unresolved.

  • Nojiko mistook Nami’s tears in Gawain’s arms for evidence that he had harmed her, but Nami whispered that Gawain had promised to deal with Arlong.
  • Genzo offered the village’s money, and Nami revealed her hidden savings; Gawain declared that Cocoyasi Village’s oranges and people were his and appointed Nami as his navigator and Nojiko as his gardener.
  • Gawain took Nami and Nojiko with him to Arlong Park, saying he would show them how weak Arlong was, while Genzo was left behind.
  • Jinbe entered Arlong Park, slapped Hatchan and the fish-man officers unconscious, then confronted Arlong for enslaving humans under their mentor’s banner.
  • Arlong argued that he carried their mentor’s hatred of humans and enslaved them to give fish-men confidence, insisting that kindness alone could not help their race rise.

Ch. 310Do You Want Me to Kill You with My Own Hands?

Jinbe subdued Arlong and his crew while Gawain brought Nami and Nojiko to Arlong Park. After the girls spoke up for Hatchan, Rayleigh spared him, and Gawain offered Arlong a choice between execution and a fight to the death.

  • Jinbe beat Arlong, then scolded the kneeling fish-men and knocked Hatchan down for failing to stop Arlong's crimes.
  • Gawain arrived at Arlong Park with Nami, Nojiko, and Issho, and Rayleigh asked the girls to judge Hatchan.
  • Nami and Nojiko said Hatchan had treated them better than the other fish-men, so Rayleigh spared him and promised to support the girls.
  • Jinbe reported that Arlong's crew had been captured, and Gawain freed Arlong from his ropes.
  • Arlong accused Gawain of using friendship to enslave Jinbe, and Gawain offered him execution the next day or an immediate fight to the death.

Ch. 311Arlong's End

Gawain defeated Arlong and ended his rule over Cocoyasi Village, then accepted the villagers’ invitation to host his arriving fleet. The chapter ended as Shirahoshi reached the docks, thrilled to see orange trees.

  • Arlong charged Gawain, who caught his punch, overpowered him, and fatally slammed him into the ground.
  • Arlong praised Nami as he died, and Nami chose not to kick his corpse before crying and asking Gawain for a different tattoo.
  • Gawain allowed Jinbe to take Arlong’s remains for burial and told him to spare underlings whose crimes were not too serious.
  • Gawain and the villagers celebrated Cocoyasi Village’s freedom, and Genzo offered to host Gawain’s more than forty thousand followers.
  • The Dark Bird Ship and another enormous vessel approached the village as Gawain announced their arrival.
  • Shirahoshi rose from the sea and hurried to Gawain, excited to see orange trees.

Ch. 312Reiju... Zeff

Reiju followed the Dark Bird Ship to profit from the new markets forming under Gawain’s rule, while the chapter recounted how Zeff rescued a blond boy from a storm and later built the Baratie. Years afterward, Zeff announced that the restaurant would disband because the Dark Bird Ship was approaching, prompting Garp and the diners to protest.

  • Reiju told Ichiji she would follow the Dark Bird Ship and secure future bases for the Vinsmoke Family, while he returned to report to their father.
  • Reiju trailed the ship and met other intelligence agents who were learning to operate under Gawain’s rules.
  • Eight years earlier, Zeff’s crew robbed a merchant ship, but a lightning storm wrecked it; Zeff rescued a blond boy and both washed ashore on an island.
  • Zeff and the boy survived extreme hunger on the island, and Zeff later established the Baratie, where he told diners the story of losing his leg.
  • Zeff announced that the Baratie would disband the next day because the Dark Bird Ship was nearing the area and he wanted to protect his crew.
  • Garp challenged Zeff’s decision, and the diners looked to Zeff for an explanation.

Ch. 313How Rude!!!

Zeff feared Gawain would target Baratie, but Kaku arrived to arrange a feast for the Dark Bird Ship and reassure him. Meanwhile, Gawain reached Cocoyasi Village with Shirahoshi, whose arrival stunned the villagers and left Nami feeling inferior.

  • Zeff asked Garp to protect Sanji and Baratie, and Garp promised to help while insisting Gawain would not harm them.
  • A Baratie chef reported that a Little Dark Bird Ship had approached, and Kaku arrived to invite Garp to stay until Gawain visited.
  • Kaku told Zeff that Gawain wanted to bring the Dark Bird Ship’s nearly forty thousand people to dine at Baratie and had sent ingredients ahead.
  • Zeff realized Gawain wanted to eat his cooking rather than kill him, then excitedly ordered his crew to prepare for the enormous feast.
  • At Cocoyasi Village, Shirahoshi emerged from the water and amazed the villagers, while Gawain reassured Genzo that she was the only giant aboard his ship.
  • Nami snapped out of her stunned gaze at Shirahoshi but lowered her head, feeling overshadowed by the mermaid princess’s presence.

Ch. 314A Chill Down the Spine

After defeating Arlong, Gawain’s crew celebrated with Cocoyasi Village and welcomed Nami and Nojiko aboard the Dark Bird Ship. The ship then set sail for Baratie, where Rayleigh and the others planned to spar with Garp, who suddenly sensed danger as Gawain’s arrival drew nearer.

  • Shirahoshi worried that the villagers disliked her, and Gawain reassured her before Genzo welcomed her and the Dark Bird Ship’s crew to Cocoyasi Village.

  • Smoker resolved to confront Gawain about Colonel Nezumi’s crimes, while Kaku told Zeff that Gawain had already left Cocoyasi Village.
  • Garp woke from his nap at Baratie with a sudden chill down his back.

Ch. 315Finally, You're Here

Nami struggled with the pressure of her new role until Gawain encouraged her to eat and handed Colonel Nezumi over to Shiryu. The Dark Bird Ship reached Baratie, where Rayleigh and Zephyr prepared to confront Garp, who intercepted a meteor with his Haki-coated chair.

  • Nami worried that she was unworthy of her position and salary, but Nojiko brought her to lunch and reminded her to repay Gawain by taking care of herself.
  • Smoker delivered Colonel Nezumi, who begged Nami to defend him, but Nami refused to decide his punishment and Nojiko handed him to Shiryu.
  • The lookout spotted Baratie, prompting Rayleigh, Issho, and Zephyr to leave ahead of the ship to meet Garp.
  • At Baratie, Zeff welcomed the approaching Dark Bird Ship while Sanji continued preparing food and Kaku went to receive the ship.
  • Garp sensed Rayleigh and the others approaching, then hurled his Haki-coated reclining chair at a meteor falling toward Baratie.

Ch. 316Garp at His Peak

Garp shattered Fujitora’s enormous meteor and protected the Baratie before confronting Rayleigh, Fujitora, and Zephyr. He easily overpowered Zephyr in their opening exchange, and the chapter left them trading another punch as Zephyr struggled to keep up with Garp.

  • Fujitora sent a meteor dozens of kilometers wide toward Garp, who shattered it with a lounge chair and used Armament Haki to shield the Baratie.
  • Garp left the Baratie as Rayleigh, Fujitora, and Zephyr approached, and Zephyr attacked him with his newly developed Z-Shaped Cannon.
  • Garp punched through Zephyr’s explosive shell, then struck Zephyr and consumed nearly a tenth of his Armament Haki.
  • Garp mocked Zephyr’s decline and challenged the others to fight him, prompting Zephyr to renew his attack.
  • Garp and Zephyr exchanged another punch, while Zephyr tried to identify a weakness in Garp’s force.

Ch. 317A Feast of Duels

Garp overwhelmed Zephyr and then fought Issho in a fierce duel while Gion and Rayleigh chose to wait their turns. After Garp defeated Issho, Gion took his place and saw her sword attack erased by Garp’s punch, which raised a colossal wave.

  • Garp shattered Zephyr’s mechanical arm and struck him hard enough to leave him unable to continue fighting.
  • Gion asked Issho to lead the attack, and Issho challenged Garp with his gravity and sword techniques.
  • Rayleigh and Gion decided to let Issho fight Garp alone, while Gawain and the others watched for over an hour.
  • Garp landed a powerful punch on Issho, and Gawain pulled the defeated Issho out of the battle as Gion rushed in.
  • Garp destroyed Gion’s Crocodile God sword attack with his punch and sent a huge wave rising from the sea, shocking Ace and Sabo.

Ch. 318Baratie's Welcome

Gawain's crew and allies defeated Garp after a fierce group battle, then returned to the Dark Bird Ship to recover and prepare for a meal from Baratie. As the ship approached the restaurant, Zeff worried about Garp and sent Sanji back inside while he waited to welcome Gawain.

  • Garp and Rayleigh fought for forty-two minutes, leaving both wounded, before Rayleigh ordered the others to attack Garp together.
  • Gion and Issho joined the group assault, and the fighters overwhelmed Garp; Crocus carried the exhausted Garp back to Gawain.
  • Gawain brought the group to the Dark Bird Ship, assigned the healers to treat the wounded, and told the crew to clean up before a meal and drinks.
  • Zeff worried about Garp as the Dark Bird Ship neared Baratie, then sent Sanji inside to oversee the restaurant while he waited to welcome Gawain.

Ch. 319Chef

Sanji feared for Zeff as the Dark Bird Ship took Baratie aboard, but Gawain welcomed Zeff and asked him to cook for the banquet. Zeff regained his confidence in the kitchen and confronted the Dark Bird Ship’s former head chef, who challenged him to prove his skill.

  • Sanji worried that Zeff’s misfortune had been caused by him while preparing food aboard Baratie.
  • Issho used the Press-Press Fruit to lift Baratie onto the Dark Bird Ship, where Gawain ordered Den to renovate it and welcomed Zeff without requiring him to kneel.
  • Gawain explained to Rayleigh that he had given Zeff time to settle in before asking him to cook, while Uta promised to sing a new song at the banquet.
  • Lucci directed Zeff’s crew to return to the kitchen as Zeff tried to understand why Gawain had treated him differently from the Celestial Dragons he had known.
  • The Dark Bird Ship’s former head chef grabbed Zeff and demanded that he prove his cooking within half an hour, but Zeff rejected the rivalry and ordered him to help without disrupting his cooking.

Ch. 320Dark Bird Ship Rules

Sanji met Gawain while sneaking a cigarette and learned that Gawain knew his identity, then Gawain arranged for Sanji to cook half the dishes at his banquet. Later, Gawain trained Kami-e with Zephyr, and his crew reacted to news that Sanji was the chef he intended to recruit.

  • Gawain met Sanji on the deck, shared a cigarette with him, and admitted he had eaten the Rumble-Rumble Fruit.
  • Gawain told Sanji they were smoking buddies and ordered him to cook at least half the dishes at the evening banquet; Sanji returned to the kitchen boasting to Zeff.
  • At dusk, Gawain dodged Zephyr's punches while practicing Kami-e, and Hancock beat Jinbe after he doubted Gawain would master Seimei Kikan.
  • Hancock told Gawain that Sanji had completed his portion of their agreement, and Gawain confirmed that he wanted to recruit the younger chef, prompting celebration from some crew members and disappointment from others.

Ch. 321Shanks, You Can't Handle It!
