Ch. 61Senzu Beans + Gravity Training Room

Gawain heard Madame Shyarly’s third prophecy about him training aboard a huge ship with Shirahoshi, Jinbe, Gion, and a blind swordsman. He realized the blind man was Issho and saw Issho’s gravity powers, alongside Kuma’s abilities, as a way to accelerate his training.

  • Gawain calmed his newly awakened Conqueror’s Haki, and Jinbe acknowledged its strength while Gion took offense at his earlier distrust.
  • Gion and Jinbe argued over whether Whitebeard deserved the title of the world’s strongest man, until Gawain stopped them and returned the conversation to Shyarly’s prophecy.
  • Shyarly described a future scene in which Gawain trained aboard an enormous ship while struggling to move despite wearing no weights, with Shirahoshi and several companions nearby.
  • Gawain asked whether the prophecy included a blind swordsman, and Shyarly confirmed that it showed a blind man carrying a sword.
  • Gawain concluded that the blind swordsman was Issho and imagined combining his gravity powers with Kuma’s abilities to greatly improve his training.

Ch. 62Saint Gawain's Slippery Foot

Gawain gave Madame Shyarly a piece of his Vivre Card and offered her help, then left the Mermaid Cafe with Gion, Jinbe, and Shirahoshi to visit the Sea Forest. Shirahoshi excitedly picked Gawain up in public, causing a stir among the onlookers.

  • Gawain gave Madame Shyarly a piece of his Vivre Card and exchanged Den Den Mushi numbers with her.
  • Gawain told Gion that the blind swordsman Issho was powerful enough to be an admiral candidate.
  • Gawain invited Shirahoshi to share snacks, and the group later left the Mermaid Cafe for the Sea Forest.
  • Shirahoshi excitedly picked Gawain up and placed him on her shoulder, drawing gasps from the crowd.
  • Gion helped Gawain down, and Jinbe scolded Shirahoshi for ignoring etiquette.
  • Gawain told Shirahoshi to ask before picking him up next time, while the onlookers gossiped about their relationship.

Ch. 63Sea Train

Gawain brought Shirahoshi to Sea Forest, where he recruited Den to lead a new Sea Train project despite Den’s resentment over the World Government’s killing of his brother Tom. As Gawain walked back to Shirahoshi, Vander Decken launched another attack.

  • Gawain told Shirahoshi that Sea Forest was made of shipwreck masts, then sent Gion to accompany her while Jinbe stayed with him.
  • Gawain identified Den as Fish-Man Tom’s younger brother and ordered him to join the Sea Train project.
  • Gawain said he would restart Sea Train construction around Water 7 and across the Grand Line, warning Den that refusing would have consequences.
  • Den apologized and asked why the project should not be entrusted to Water 7; Gawain told him to pack and prepare to go ashore.
  • Jinbe spotted streaks of light in the distance and warned Gawain that Vander Decken had attacked again.

Ch. 64Madman

Gion protected Shirahoshi from Vander Decken’s incoming weapons as Shirahoshi continued through the Sea Forest. After learning that Shirahoshi had accepted Gawain’s proposal, Vander Decken flew into a rage and set off to confront her in person.

  • Gion sliced apart Vander Decken’s weapons and blocked their fragments before they could reach Shirahoshi.
  • Shirahoshi told Gion she trusted her protection but still had something important to do, then carried her onward through the Sea Forest.
  • Gawain told Jinbe that Vander Decken might throw himself at Shirahoshi after hearing she had accepted his proposal.
  • Ikaros Mushi told Vander Decken that Shirahoshi had agreed to marry a Celestial Dragon.
  • Vander Decken hurled weapons and furniture in grief, then flew toward Shirahoshi to ask her about the proposal himself.
  • Mushi called Hody Jones and reported that Vander Decken had refused to meet him and was heading for Shirahoshi.

Ch. 65Keep Quiet

Hody Jones prepared his forces to exploit Vander Decken IX’s attack on Shirahoshi, while Shirahoshi visited her mother’s grave with Gawain and the others. Vander Decken arrived and Gion cut him down as Jinbe intercepted the flying furniture.

  • Hody Jones ordered his men to keep the Giant Sea Beasts ready and prepare to take hostages while he went to watch Shirahoshi.
  • Shirahoshi visited Queen Otohime’s grave, where she mourned and finally allowed herself to cry.
  • King Neptune, the three princes, and Mjosgard joined Gawain, Jinbe, and Gion in silently honoring Queen Otohime.
  • Gawain signaled Gion and Jinbe to intercept Vander Decken IX without disturbing Shirahoshi.
  • Jinbe struck the flying furniture with an Air Hammer as Gion attacked Vander Decken IX and sliced off the upper half of his head.

Ch. 66Gyoncorde Plaza

After Shirahoshi said goodbye to Queen Otohime, Gawain and Neptune prepared to visit Gyoncorde Plaza, while Hody Jones learned that Vander Decken was dead. Hody Jones’s underlings then reported that two Celestial Dragons and Punidon’s group were heading to Gyoncorde Plaza.

  • Shirahoshi finished mourning at Queen Otohime’s grave and thanked Gawain for freeing her from the Hard-Shell Tower.
  • Neptune, his sons, and Mjosgard grieved together, and Neptune agreed to accompany Mjosgard to Gyoncorde Plaza to pay respects to Otohime.
  • Jinbe had civilians carry away Vander Decken’s corpse, and Hody Jones stopped to confirm that it was Vander Decken.
  • Hody Jones’s underlings recognized him and reported that two Celestial Dragons and Punidon’s group were heading to Gyoncorde Plaza.

Ch. 67Fish-Man Island Is a Wonderful Place

Gawain spent time with Shirahoshi and the people of Fish-Man Island after Vander Decken’s death, while Hody Jones set his sights on Gyoncorde Plaza. The chapter ended with Gawain learning that disturbances were drawing a crowd toward the plaza and preparing to confront whoever was behind them.

  • Hody Jones chose Gyoncorde Plaza as the site for his plan and ordered his men to join the main force, while one lackey questioned their hatred of Queen Otohime.
  • Gawain rejected displaying Vander Decken’s corpse and told Jinbe that people who deserved death should be dealt with decisively rather than merely knocked away.
  • Gawain left Neptune and Mjosgard to mourn at Queen Otohime’s grave and walked through Sea Forest with Shirahoshi, Jinbe, and Gion.
  • Gawain and his companions danced with Fish-Men and Merfolk, though Shirahoshi became anxious about making mistakes.
  • Mjosgard’s guards reported a large gathering moving toward Gyoncorde Plaza and disturbances at Coral Hill and Mermaid Cove, and Gawain prepared to meet the new threat.

Ch. 68We Are Their Slaves!

Hody Jones prepared his coup in Gyoncorde Plaza, using hostages and a plan to flood Fish-Man Island while rallying the New Sun Pirates against Neptune and Gawain. He broadcast his accusations across the island and blocked the approaching Neptune Army with two Sea Kings.

  • Hody Jones confirmed that twenty thousand followers had infiltrated Gyoncorde Plaza, taken nearby residents hostage, and prepared to flood Fish-Man Island and use Energy Steroids.
  • Neptune brought Gawain, Mjosgard, and their group to the platform where Otohime had spoken and died, and Mjosgard wondered whether she would have wanted revenge.
  • Hody Jones confronted Mjosgard and activated equipment that broadcast the plaza to screens throughout Fish-Man Island.
  • Hody Jones led his followers in accusing Neptune of cowardice and declaring that Fish-Men were slaves to humans, while pointing out Gawain as the Celestial Dragon who would take the princess away.
  • Two enormous Sea Kings appeared beyond the plaza's coating and blocked the approaching Neptune Army.

Ch. 69Continue!

Gawain stood with Neptune, Gion, and Jinbe as Hody Jones denounced Neptune and threatened Fish-Man Island with his rebellion. Hody used Jinbe’s past and kidnapped hostages to provoke them, but Gawain remained calm and kept telling him to continue.

  • Neptune sighed as Gawain reassured him, then Gawain took the podium with Gion and Jinbe beside him.
  • Gawain repeatedly invited Hody Jones to continue his speech, frustrating Hody as he boasted that more than one hundred thousand supporters were ready to overthrow Neptune and attack humans.
  • Hody accused Jinbe of betraying Fisher Tiger’s cause by becoming a Shichibukai, while Gawain mocked Hody’s claims about Arlong and Admiral Borsalino.
  • Hody’s men brought out bound Fish-Men and Merfolk as hostages and threatened to shoot them if Jinbe moved.
  • Gawain blocked Jinbe from stepping forward and calmly told Hody to continue, noting that Jinbe would not move.

Ch. 70Rhythm

Gawain kept Hody Jones off balance at Gyoncorde Plaza and drew him into admitting that he killed Queen Otohime. Hody’s confession shocked Fish-Man Island, and Gawain ended the chapter with a silent threat.

  • Hody Jones struggled to continue his speech as Gawain exposed the weakness of his plans and challenged him to explain his purpose.
  • Gawain addressed Fish-Man Island’s civilians, prompting most of the waiting thugs to pause their attacks and listen.
  • Gawain offered Hody the throne if he let Neptune and his family leave for land, but Hody refused and condemned Fish-Men living on land.
  • Gawain questioned Hody about his hatred of land and drew out his claim that he wanted to kill him as horribly as he had killed Otohime.
  • Hody Jones accidentally confessed to killing Otohime, and Gawain drew a finger across his throat as the crowd gasped.

Ch. 71Pressure

Gawain ordered Gion to attack Hody Jones, who was killed before he could act. Jinbe and Neptune pleaded with Gawain to spare Hody’s followers, and the rebels laid down their weapons and knelt as Gawain left them waiting for his decision.

  • Hody Jones revealed that he had gathered thirty thousand men and called on them to take Energy Steroids, kill Neptune and the Celestial Dragons, and conquer Mary Geoise during the next Reverie.
  • Gawain told Gion to act, and she swiftly killed Hody Jones with her sword and a series of strikes.
  • Daruma charged toward the hostages, so Jinbe killed him with Fish-Man Karate and begged Gawain to spare the people Hody had deceived.
  • Jinbe explained that Hody had murdered Queen Otohime and urged the Fish-Men to recognize that humans and Fish-Men were equal; the rebels dropped their weapons and knelt.
  • Neptune and his sons knelt to ask Gawain to spare their people, while Gawain stopped Shirahoshi from joining them and waited silently for the Fish-Men’s response.

Ch. 72Fear Might, Not Virtue

Gawain spared Fish-Man Island after Hody Jones’s attack, but sentenced Hody’s followers to build a settlement and passage network on land. He left Jinbe and Shirahoshi with warnings and expectations about their future under his influence.

  • Fish-Man Island watched Hody Jones’s attack, his confession to Queen Otohime’s murder, and his death at the hands of a human swordswoman; Jinbe also killed Daruma and asked Gawain for forgiveness.
  • King Neptune accepted responsibility during the live broadcast, and Gawain stopped Shirahoshi from kneeling before allowing Neptune and the others to stand.
  • Gawain spared the Fish-Men who had followed Hody Jones from execution but sentenced them to labor building a coated passage network and a settlement on five lawless Sabaody Archipelago islands.
  • Gawain released Conqueror’s Haki and knocked the kneeling followers unconscious before leaving with Gion and Jinbe.
  • Neptune urged Shirahoshi to follow Gawain, while Gawain told Jinbe to watch over Fish-Man Island and said Mjosgard would handle showing virtue.

Ch. 73Jinbe Is So Fierce!

Gawain teased Shirahoshi on their way back to Ufuri Villa, where she revealed she had long known Hody Jones killed her mother but kept silent to honor Otohime’s final wish. Jinbe confessed his own role in allowing Fish-Man Island’s hatred to grow, then loudly scolded Shirahoshi for clinging to Gawain, only for her to hug Gawain again.

  • Gawain teased the nervous Shirahoshi and promised she would never have to return to Hard-Shell Tower.
  • Shirahoshi told Gawain and Jinbe that Megalo had revealed Hody Jones was the one who shot her mother, but she had stayed silent to honor Otohime’s plea not to hate the culprit.
  • Jinbe was shocked and blamed himself for not discovering the truth sooner, then explained how Fisher Tiger’s death and his refusal of human blood had helped fuel hatred among Fish-Man Island’s youth.
  • Jinbe bowed to Gawain and admitted he had also withheld the truth, while Gawain struggled to free himself from Shirahoshi’s anxious tail.
  • Jinbe jumped onto Shirahoshi’s head and punched her for holding Gawain improperly, drawing the attention of Fish-Man Island’s viewers.
  • Shirahoshi tearfully hugged Gawain against her chest and complained that Jinbe was fierce, leaving Gawain completely buried.

Ch. 74The Two Most Beautiful Women in the World

A fast-moving man with Conqueror's Haki reached Amazon Lily, prompting the sentries to alert Boa Hancock. On Fish-Man Island, Shirahoshi woke from a nightmare and joined breakfast, where she was startled by Gawain's bloodied arrival from training.

  • Amazon Lily's sentries spotted a fast-moving figure approaching and sent word to Boa Hancock after their arrows failed to stop him.
  • Boa Hancock's sisters told her that a man with Conqueror's Haki had landed and overwhelmed the island's warriors, and Hancock set out to confront him.
  • Shirahoshi woke from a nightmare about her mother, then joined Tris for breakfast and asked about Gawain, Jinbe, and Gion.
  • Tris told Shirahoshi that Gawain had trained through the night and teased her about wanting him to pick her up.
  • Gawain arrived at the dining room exhausted and bloodied, while Gion ordered him to eat and recover before the next training session.

Ch. 75The Banner of Gawain

After finishing his grueling training, Gawain discussed Fish-Man Island’s security and Mjosgard’s plan to stay there for a few months. He arranged for Mjosgard’s guards and his own flag to protect the kingdom, leaving Neptune ready to replace Whitebeard’s banner once Gawain’s new design arrived.

  • Gawain completed his morning training while Shirahoshi worried over his condition, and Neptune and Mjosgard arrived to meet with him.
  • Neptune explained that his ministers were investigating those involved in the Gyoncorde Plaza riot, and Gawain told him to continue with the plan.
  • Mjosgard asked to remain on Fish-Man Island for a few months without giving up his Celestial Dragon identity, and Gawain agreed after learning his intentions.
  • Gawain told Neptune that Mjosgard’s guards would help protect Ryugu Castle and that the kingdom should take down Whitebeard’s flag.
  • Gawain ordered Neptune to fly his personal flag instead and described it as a Dark Bird circling the World Government’s cross-star emblem.

Ch. 76Close at Hand

Gawain decided to leave Fish-Man Island with Shirahoshi and Jinbe, while offering the Ryugu Kingdom protection in exchange for future support. Neptune welcomed the alliance and planned to cover the island with Gawain’s banners.

  • Neptune agreed to wait two more days before reshaping Fish-Man Island in Gawain’s image, while Mjosgard eagerly offered to arrange Gawain’s departure.
  • Shirahoshi insisted on leaving with Gawain, and he agreed despite the lack of a specially prepared room or pool on his ship.
  • Gawain asked Jinbe to accompany him, and Jinbe accepted after Shirahoshi pleaded with him to stay by her side.
  • Gawain told Neptune he would protect Fish-Man Island without interfering in its rule and hoped to earn its support for his future plans.
  • Neptune embraced Gawain and promised to display his banners across Fish-Man Island once they arrived.

Ch. 77A Big Joke

Gawain and his companions left Fish-Man Island with Shirahoshi, and Gawain joked about using her power to launch the island at Mary Geoise. As they traveled through the deep sea, Mushi and Wadatsumi approached their ship, believing the Celestial Dragons were fleeing.

  • Mushi urged Wadatsumi to hurry toward Fish-Man Island, then spotted a faint light in the distance.
  • Gawain, Gion, Jinbe, and Shirahoshi said farewell to the people of Fish-Man Island and departed aboard a ship rising in its bubble.
  • Gawain described a giant slingshot that could fire Fish-Man Island at Mary Geoise, and Jinbe laughed off the idea as an outrageous joke.
  • Shirahoshi wondered whether she could summon countless Sea Kings, and Gawain confirmed her power while saying he would not use her as a weapon.
  • Jinbe detected an approaching ship and Anglerfish, while Mushi urged Wadatsumi to capture the Celestial Dragon for Vander Decken's reward.

Ch. 78Is This What Men Are Like?

Jinbe defeated Hody Jones's remaining allies while escorting Gawain and Shirahoshi toward the surface. Meanwhile, an old man arrived on Amazon Lily, where Hancock recognized him with a trace of nostalgia.

  • Mushi rushed toward Gawain's ship, but Jinbe struck him with Fish-Man Karate's Buraikan and sent him flying into the Kraken, which ate him.
  • Jinbe sent Wadatsumi toward Fish-Man Island and told him that Vander Decken had died; Wadatsumi fled there in grief.
  • Jinbe contacted King Neptune to request that Wadatsumi be detained rather than executed, and Gawain agreed to leave Fish-Man Island's affairs to Neptune.
  • Gawain's ship rode an ascending current toward the Sabaody Archipelago, while Shirahoshi celebrated seeing the outside world.
  • On Amazon Lily, female warriors surrounded a half-dressed old man, and Hancock arrived and looked at him with faint nostalgia.

Ch. 79The Empress

Rayleigh warned Hancock that a Celestial Dragon had set his sights on Amazon Lily as a place to train his Conqueror’s Haki, and Hancock collapsed when she learned his identity. Elsewhere, Gawain’s orders led Fish-Man Island’s forces to capture Wadatsumi, while Doberman and the Marines reacted with shock to the enormous, beautiful mermaid arriving with Gawain at Sabaody.

  • Rayleigh told Hancock that a young man wanted to use Amazon Lily to train his Conqueror’s Haki, and Hancock refused to allow anyone onto her island.
  • Rayleigh revealed that the young man was a Celestial Dragon, and Hancock fell to her knees in shock.
  • Neptune and Mjosgard changed course for Otohime’s favorite tavern while Fukaboshi and an Army captain prepared to detain Wadatsumi under Gawain’s orders.
  • Fukaboshi and the Army captain bound Wadatsumi with giant ropes as he mourned being left alone.
  • At Sabaody, Doberman and the Marines stared in disbelief at the enormous, beautiful mermaid Gawain had brought back.

Ch. 80Now That's Impressive, Gawain!

Gawain returned to Mary Geoise with Shirahoshi, whose first visit to the surface delighted her, and prepared to meet the Five Elders about several matters. At his family estate, three Celestial Dragons asked him to arrange access to the impressive slaves associated with Charlos, and Gawain promised to look into it.

  • Doberman welcomed Gawain and arranged a Bubble Gondola to Mary Geoise for him, Shirahoshi, Jinbe, and Gion.
  • Shirahoshi wondered whether the people staring at her accepted her, and Gawain told her they liked her.
  • After entering Mary Geoise, Shirahoshi excitedly explored the forest for more than two hours before following Gawain to Pangea Castle.
  • Three Celestial Dragons greeted Gawain and praised him for beating Charlos, Alrewyn, and Truigada.
  • One of the Celestial Dragons asked Gawain to help obtain impressive slaves, and Gawain said he would discuss the matter with the Five Elders and arrange a channel.
