In the silent wilderness, two figures appeared out of thin air. One of them lost her balance the moment she appeared and fell to the ground.
"Are you all right, Bella?"
Alecto Carro's voice rang out in the darkness. She had just reached out to help her colleague, who looked as bedraggled as a beggar. But as she pulled her up from the ground, she suddenly found a wand pressed to her throat.
"What do you mean by this?" Alecto frowned slightly as she looked at Bella, who seemed on the verge of losing her mind.
"You traitor."
Bella wanted nothing more than to kill the woman in front of her. It was not that she suspected Alecto, but everything about her indicated that something was very wrong.
"Traitor?"
Alecto muttered, seemingly pondering the meaning of the word.
"I know what happened to Lestrange has made you sad, but that doesn't mean you can slander people at will. Before the operation, Narcissa already warned you that this was very likely a trap. You paid no heed to it, but I believed her and made ample preparations."
Seeing Bella glare at her, Alecto reached out and pushed aside the wand at her throat. "If I were you, I'd go back and treat those injuries first instead of taking your anger out on me. Don't forget, I saved you, Bellatrix Lestrange."
Alecto's words made Bella hesitate briefly. Then, in the next instant, Bella suddenly collapsed to the ground and passed out cold, while the female Death Eater froze in place like a stone.
No one knew what had happened. The change had come so abruptly, as though someone had reached out and pressed the pause button.
"Sharp senses. Or do Dark wizards simply not need evidence when they suspect someone?"
