Late at night, Sewell Hospital was still brightly lit. Professor Manst, working overtime through the night, sat in the Common Room, taking small sips of steaming coffee as he patiently awaited his distinguished guest.
Everything came at a price.
For a generous donation, staying up late was hardly unacceptable.
Though arranging the meeting at this hour was rather helpless, the dedicated Professor Manst had long grown accustomed to it. After all, this was nothing that could stand the light of day, so nighttime was more appropriate. Still, Mr. Ades had scheduled the meeting before dawn, making him want to complain.
The sound of a car came from outside. Professor Manst drained the bitter coffee in one gulp, patted his cheeks to rouse himself, put on a professional smile, and headed toward the entrance of Sewell Hospital.
A very ordinary Ford was parked there, and Mr. Ades had already opened the rear door.
Professor Manst waved a hand, summoning two male nurses to carry the patient from the back seat onto a stretcher.
"Dear Bellatrix is in your hands now, Professor Manst."
Albert walked into the hospital beside Professor Manst and did not forget to remind him, "I hope you never remove her wristbands or ankle bands under any circumstances. They are precious gifts."
"Of course. Such a small request is entirely reasonable." Professor Manst readily agreed, then introduced the procedure ahead. "We'll perform a minor operation on her shortly, to resolve her problem with Balderdash."
"Oh, certainly, if that is your hospital's normal procedure." Albert smiled. "Before the operation, I hope the hospital can provide a room so I can have a few final words with Bellatrix and soothe her emotions."
