Late at night, Isobel, wrapped in a thick cloak, pushed open the cabin door and stepped onto the deck, darkened by the night. Her gaze fell on the figure beneath the oil lamp, fishing alone in the sea breeze. She knew that whenever Albert had something on his mind, he would come to the deck alone to enjoy the wind, fish, and think of a solution.

Albert gestured for Isobel to sit beside him.
