Yaxley was under tremendous pressure. Especially after receiving the message Snape had brought not long ago, he had given up on leading people back to reinforce Voldemort and still insisted on holding his post.
Deep down, a voice had always told him that Mudblood could never do anything to the Dark Lord. Keeping a close watch on the Auror Alliance formed by the various European countries was more important. They absolutely could not be given any opportunity.

Snape glanced at the Dark Mark on his arm and muttered, "Before coming here, I went to check on the Dementors. With that lot stirring things up, the Dark Lord should be fine. At worst, he can still escape."

"We didn't find the Dark Lord. That manor has completely vanished, leaving only a huge crater behind." Alecto truly could not understand what kind of battle could have caused such a tremendous disturbance.

"I asked them. The Dark Lord should have won in the end, but... he Apparated away soon afterward."
