As Yaxley led that cursing pack of Dark wizards around the sealed-off corridor, he still had no idea that his movements had already been discovered by the House-elves Albert had left in the kitchen to monitor the entire castle.
No matter how hard they racked their brains, they probably never would have imagined that someone would set up their headquarters in the kitchen.
And precisely because of that, it was quite safe there.
"How did it go? Did it work?"
After Hermione and Ron were brought back to the kitchen by Apparition with the House-elves' help, they hurriedly asked about the result.
Just moments ago, the two had used the Magical Items Albert left behind to try to cut off Yaxley's group, preventing Bill's squad from being caught in a pincer attack and utterly wiped out.
After all, they were not Albert. If they ran headlong into a force of over a hundred Dark wizards, the outcome was obvious.
"It worked. Those people took a detour." Shanna tilted her head toward Hermione and Ron. "But you'll probably have to head out again."
"What happened?"
Hermione immediately turned her gaze to the large map before her and quickly understood the reason as she followed Shanna's wand.
"A group split off from that main force earlier and formed three smaller squads. They seem to be planning to attack our blocking teams from behind, trying to open those three routes and let the enemy in," Shanna explained.
"They're actually planning to attack from both sides." Hermione stared at the red dots on the map and murmured, "If Albert hadn't prepared for this, things would probably have gone very badly."
"When did those people become so devious?" Ron sounded rather depressed.
"Everyone is improving," Shanna said blandly.
"You call that improving?"
