"Looks like Albert really does dislike politicians!"
After listening to Percy's detailed report, Kingsley was not angered by Albert's refusal. Instead, he reflected that he, too, had begun to become the sort of person he once despised.
This was not his first time dealing with Albert. He naturally knew that Albert held little fondness for the Ministry of Magic or most of its employees. The fact that he had reluctantly agreed to serve as a nominal Senior Advisor and lend Kingsley his support made that clear enough.
"What should we do now?"
Percy carefully watched Kingsley's expression. Once he was sure the Minister was not angry over the matter, he could not help but breathe a sigh of relief. Honestly, Percy was very unwilling to see any unpleasant conflict arise between Kingsley and Albert. It would not only make things worse, but also put him in an awkward position.
"Don't press them too hard. Find an opportunity to quietly leave them an opening and let those foreign Dark wizards get the hell out of Britain. There's no need to waste extra time and energy on them."
Kingsley knew the Ministry of Magic's current situation all too well. He had no interest whatsoever in wiping out Voldemort's remaining followers. After all, those who became Dark wizards were hardly easy to deal with. Though they had previously managed to keep them pinned down, that had all been Albert's doing. Even Kingsley had to admit that this was the main reason he had been so eager to bring Albert aboard.
It would have made things so much easier. With Albert helping to share the pressure, he could clean up the current mess more quickly and easily.
